Have the oil filters been changed recently?
My TD42 used to stall dead on 10secs after starting it after I replaced the oil filters (with non-genuine) because there was no anti-drainback-valve in them, and if the oil pressure doesn't get above a certain point within 10secs, the engine turns itself ...

In the fuse panel beside the skinny pedal?

JBL 6.5" 640gte fit in my GQ. Big diameter low profile magnets too so I made 20mm thick mdf spacers for better clearance through the factory hole. Didnt want to cut

I spoke to my local (UK...) dealership today to see if they could cut me a key from my VIN, as the key's too worn to copy, but apparently Nissan UK no longer have records going back to the mid-90s so no-can-do.

Worst case, I can take a lock barrel into a locksmith and they might be able to help ...

I started the car today, and sure enough, 10 seconds in, the stop-solenoid does its thing.
Many thanks; I'd've been throwing fuel filters on indefinitely trying to solve this on my own.

I'm not convinced that it isn't an air leak, but I've been blaming crappy fuel filters all this time, but it sounds like it could actually be crappy oil filters ...

yea, you can open most of it up, usually it stops due to getting dirt and grease on the contacts - inside the bit where the control lever comes out of.. just carefully disassemble it and clean, then it should work when re installed.

I imagine Dzltec will correct me if I'm wrong, but from what little I've read, inline pumps are (very broadly) more like pumps from small trucks, and can handle SVO a lot easier, for example.

Eg:
"Inline Diesel pumps are the Holy Grail for Vegetable oils ...

Want to post a pic of the side and back of the pump and I will tell you.

I got a Cyprus model too. Standard roof but it has the Rotary pump. I didn`t know Zexel made an inline pump. I know it is all Bosch anyway.

Is your pump like the one in SD 33?

I've got a ex-Cyprus high-roof LWB GQ here in the UK, which, just FYI, looks a lot like a Safari, except it's a 12v, non-turbo car, with none of the Safari toys.

Whilst it's much the same as a 'normal' GQ in most regards, it's got a Zexel inline injector pump, not a rotary, so most of ...
