My 1989 TD42 GQ is having gearbox problems it does not want to go in to 2nd properly.

In my experience cheezy bars arent that strong anyway.

I hit a tree at maybe 10km/hr or less on a slippery clay uphill run. The wing bent in and the middle of the bar twisted stopping the winch from working. The left side of my GQ got smashed up.

Mate i recently made the same venture as Big Lux (in fact on the same day) except ive got a GQ wagon 4.2 Turbo diesel and i have found no extreme fuel differences between that and my Turbo diesel hilux (2.4 ltr) and i paid half the price of what your looking at for a lux

I just ordered a new viscus fan and thermo stat and i will be looking at the pump and sorting out weather it needs replacing too.

You can buy 1 inch spacers that move your front diff forward you would then require an adjustable torque rod, this should fix your scrubbing on your front guard but you will need to cut your bull bar further.

Hey i run 265-75-16 (32's) on the road and 33-12.5-15 off it

i have a 2in suspension lift i get rubbing on the fire wall with the 33's i would suggest a nice set of 32's would do the trick very nicely will put your speed'o out around 5% as apposed to 10% for 33's and you shouldn't have any where ...
