I've hit a bit of a wall at diagnosing a centre bearing problem
With my D22 navara 3.2 DX
I Think it has the wrong tailshaft in the rear because it seems about 20mm too short
Could anybody measure the sections of their rear tailshaft for me please so I
Can confirm this?
My rear section was 908mm ...

You would think it would be on the diff side wouldn't you!
It's just got a slip joint on the transmission and no yoke on the shaft
So all the suspension travel/shaft movement goes through the bearing

Unfortunately the Bearing mounts are welded on so
To lower the bearing would envolve cutting and welding
And a 1 piece shaft I think I'll be up for about $800?
There must be something wrong with it, it seems like I've got the only navara
That this is happening to. Possibly the wrong shaft in it ...

It about a 2" lift
I've just bought the car and it keeps flogging centre bearings
What's causing it is the tailshaft seems about 20mm short of reaching the diff
So when it's bolted up it distorts the centre bearing
And eventually tears it.
I thought maybe correcting the pinion angle may bring it ...

I'm looking into setting the pinion angle on my D22 Navara.
I'm trying to work out what angle wedges I will need

I've measured -
-2.1 degrees at the crankshaft/output shaft
-3.1 degrees the transmission 1/2 of shaft
-8.4 degrees at the diff's 1/2 of shaft
-6.3 degrees diff pinion ...

It's only about 2-3 inch suspension lift which
I realize is not normally enough to need a spacer.
But for some reason when my centre bearing is relaxed
The rear of the tailshaft is about 20mm short of reaching the diff.
So I am forced to pull the shaft back with the bolts
And stretching the shit ...

I'm looking for a tailshaft spacer for the rear
Of my D22.
Can't seem to find anyone who makes one online.
Has anybody had any experience with finding one
Or know where I could get one?

Today I noticed the clamps which hold the
Spring packs together is in front of the diff rather
Than behind like usual, is it possible that
These are back to front and the locating dowell for the diff
Is not in the centre of the spring, causing
It to locate the diff 25mm farther from the centre ...

I bought a D22 3.2 D navara a few weeks ago, it had a collapsed
Centre bearing when I bought it which I thought was no major issue. What was unusual
Was the previous owner said he replaced it a few months ago.
So after I bought the car I replaced it too and after a week it collapsed ...

i dont have any instructions cause its all second hand stuff but i do have the marks wiring loom so think wireing it all up should be easy

i have all the conversion gear for the 3.8 into my LN106 which i took out of older lux
(VP ser 2, Marks adapter, T700)
just wondering if anyone who has done te converison can tell me what problems i might run into getting it all into my truck cause i want to knock the conversion over as fast ...

mines has a 2 inch suspension lift and 33's
scubbed badly so moved it forward 35mm
quote to extend the shaft was $350, any driveshaft mob should do it.
but i ended up going for a 2 inch body lift and putting the diff back where it was instead, no scub!

I'm doing the v6 conversion soon and not sure how i should set up the fuel system.
just wondering what setup everyone else is running, and what everyones using for a return line.

drilling the perches do you just drill a hole on the diff housing back from the factory locating hole or you drill them in the actual springs forward from the factory hole?
and i think i want to move it forward about 35mm does that sound right?

i have a 91 lux with ome 2 inch springs and ome extended shackles
just put on some 33x12.5s and they are scrubbing badly
ive done a search and found a bit of info on RUF and also re drilling the spring perches but not sure which one to do, is one considered better then the other?

it will only be for a month or so until i can afford the wheels
i wouldnt rush, but at the moment i dont have a spare, but putting my 33's on my 7's will leave me a spare

just wondering 33x12.5's would be too wide for my 15x7 rims, i know 8's would be better suited but cant afford them at the moment but already have the tyres.
should be ok? or expected to roll off the bead or something?
