(Shipping was around $350.) I dont remember any one else offering high steer kits for under 1200 when i wanted to do ...

the turbo wont fit unless you get a manifold custom made for it.
The return pipe (i believe) is best run straight into the sump.

I have a 1986 Hilux with a 4y electronic dissy motor. My problem is everytime my alternator sees dirty muddy water it plays up. It is either the brushes get stuck or the external rectifier plays up. Both are brand new. I went through some dirty water today and staight away the charge light came on ...

1986 yn67 lux.4y petrol. 2" spring, 2" body, 33's and i drive to brighton (north side brisbane) everyday from Currimundi on the sunny coast and am averaging 11L/100Ks. But that is straight up and down the highway.
If i pick up a mate in redcliffe then those figures go to apprpx 14L/100ks

Hilux Torque Rod Poll

Just doing a poll to see what other forum members reckon.

As poll states. Are they needed or not?

I don't reckon they are.

be careful with going to that higher ratio as i have been told that the diffs are weaker than the 4.875.
I run 33s and have the same truck (yn-67 4y-c) and don't have any probs with the ratios.

Mate i got an 86 2.4 petrol with standard gears and diffs and running 33's. Hardly noticed the difference at all. so doubt that it would make that much difference as well apart from scrubbing on the gaurds with the fronts.

mate, just wonderoing how old your rugrats are. My 4 1/2 yr old daughter doesn't have a booster seat in my single cab 86 lux. You can get a safety harness that looks a bit like a 5 point harness for them. that way you don't need to use the shoulder straps. Talk to RACQ or a child saftey seat fitter ...

prob not so much lift as you will be able to get better travel out of them.
You will need to get extended rear shackles to run them and also rear diff will move back 40 ish mm.

Depending on who you talk to, The clutch line mount needed to be inverted on my petrol one. Not sure about the diesel.
Otherwise most of the stuff on the lux will stretch enough that you don't need to worry about it.
