maybe a 22re to replace the old 18r? fuel injected reliability, and cheap. jaykabir has wired one into another mates car and if i remember rightly it was a cheap conversion.

even cheaper than 3rz, but not as powerful. 30" arent big so 22re would do it easy

if wanting manual though, probably better off for power, economy, ease and price to go with the 3rz that everyone reccomends

dual fuel on the 4lt six?

Quick question for a friends mum,

She already has a mid 90's cherokee with the 4lt inline 6.

She's looking into putting it on dual fuel and i thought i might ask the ones in the know if there are any problems with these motors running gas? No head issues or so forth?

cheers

22r? can be thirsty, never bothered me too much in the hilux, could still spin 33's in low range.

the motor is by no means a power house, one thing to do is make it into a 22re, bit more power and less thirsty from what i know

its more so cutting the 20mm x50mm notch out of the actual hole where the gearsticks come through, as the new shifter for the auto has a shifter bracket which will require widening of the hole to a degree. I guess if i make it clean and no sharp edges with as minimal cutting as possible it shouldnt ...

no doubt iill be custom mounted anyway, so year should not matter.

The sort of tank you need is off an EFI model, so models like v6 4runner are petrol will be suitable as they have the right stuff

i know for fuel system if you use a V6 4runner tank, you wont need fuel pumps as the V6 4runner tank has an intank high pressure pump. other wise it will take a low pressure pump, feeding into a surge tank and then a high pressure fuel pump, holden v8 external pump works and then this feeds into the ...
