Re: 90 Series Prado tech
We have a GXL 90series, 3.4l quad cam. Its got a sub tank only as the main tank was removed to fit the lpg tank. If there was a sub tank in your mates, there would be a dual filler in where you put the petrol.

Re: hilux door window replacement ln106
What exactly do you need to know?? I had to smash my way into my car, and had to replace the small quarter window in the front door, was easy. Undo the screw that holds the glass in, the channel lifts out, remove left over bits of broken glass, fit new glass, put back in, put the screw back in. Job ...

Re: Welding advice
Personally, if it was me, Id get a sparky to run a new 15a circuit to the shed, or wherever you plan of welding. I have a metal cut off saw that runs 15a, and I had it plugged into a 10a powerboard(the type with a cutoff button), and it kept cutting out whenever I was using it. When I bought my mig ...

Newy Crew drove the mudrun Friday night, was a great moment indeed, and a perfect start to the weekend. It kinda went downhill from there though. Saturday morning we found the transmission leaking, so we went over it all, trying to stop it. The best we could do was slow it. We plodded on, did ok on ...

Just order the whole kit from locktup, its got everything in it, I think wheel bearings aren't included though, so order them too. They also have the Marlin Crawler HD inner seals. Get a good quality Hitemp bearing grease for the wheel bearings, and pack the bearings with grease properly. And a good ...

That's a shame, was a great comp. I was at the first one, very relaxed.
Hope something can come of it, theres already not enough comps in NSW, without loosing another one.
Thanks to all that ran this one over the years.

Re: Old School Nissan Trials style event? NSW
I think what Rob is getting at is a little change or tweak to something means your car doesnt meet class regs for open, so you have to go up to Outlaw. Im another example of a car that wont meet open class regs, so if I enter this, itll be in Outlaw, which is a bit daunting for me. Its a very basic ...

Re: Emptying radiator contents into oil in approx 2 mins ???
I had a 22r in the 4runner that I had years ago. Nothing but dramas. I owned it for about 9months, had the head go, took it to a local mechanic(I was living at North Richmond at the time), the mechanic said its a very common problem with these engines, so common that a Windsor based workshop made ...

What he said^^^^ Check and clean CVs, axles, wheel bearings, check the seals, maybe invest in new seals, then repack with new fresh grease. Drain all oil from diffs, gearbox and transfer case. Check diff breathers aren't blocked. Depending on how bad it is, maybe check brakes over too. Regrease all ...

Open Class: Max of a 37" tyre and up 6" lift. Dual diff lock and factory suspension mounts. Aftermarket HD arms ok. Helmets are required. Don't even need the factory locker. Pajinas LSD centres work really well.
Something different to the IFS widetrack/60s/80s we often see.
Good to see someone thinking out of the box.
Get pics up, maybe start a build thread in the members section.

Facebook has done a lot to lessen forum traffic, not just to our little slice of interweb here, but every forum Im a part of has gone slow. Re: CCDA external roll cage rules
As far as I know the CCDA don't have an exact plan for external cages. Their rules on their website seem really confusing and open to interpretation. I understand that CCDA have a set rule for cage work for winch type trucks, but not really for rock crawlers and truggy type vehicles. I know that ...

I have a 2inch body lift in mine, so its a little easier to get to the top bolts, although I have been known to sit on the engine and run my arm between the firewall and engine to get to the very top bolt with a ratchet spanner. Last time I was swapping gearboxes, I have my trusty trolley jack with ...

What he said^^^^^^. Front shift at front, as its already on the back of the gearbox, top shift at back. As for sticks, frontcase in normal stock position, back case back inbetween seats, youll figure exactly where to cut once you have cases bolted in. Onto crossmembers, not sure who does off the ...

Have a look in the members builds section of the forum. BradHilux has a Prado he just took to the Cape. I think he blew out a rear shock during hi travels, so maybe check what he has, and go from there.
