Depends what you want it for....
If it is to reduce auto temps when towing and reduce auto wear and improve engine braking in general - then no.
If it is for better engine control on very slow speed hill decents where 1st low is not slow enough - then yes.

For the benefit of others, You need to do one thing at a time to work out what the issue is. First thing I would do is re-oil your fan clutch - if it has done 150,000K or more, this is probably the issue...
