Rubber or Poly for a Hilux?

Hey guys All these wiz-bang suspension kits come with poly bushes and it seems that polyurethane is the way to go when it comes to upgrading the old truck... though, a few posts around here suggest that rubber is better than poly. I'm not modifying the suspension yet but I need to get new bushes for ...

Does the 80 series use the same lights as the 60 series? According to the ARB catalogue the part numbers for the outer (hi/low beam) and inner (hi beam) looms and lights are the same. if so how much does this ARB Headlight upgrade kit cost? $309.17 for the outer wiring loom & lights $250.94 for the ...

Give it a good tune-up to make sure it's running as well as possible. Change oils, lube driveshafts... Also check the front/rear brakes. My front discs were dragging very badly as the brake pistons had gummed up. Oh, and have a look at the cat converter... it may require 'unclogging' or a new one ...

If you need a factory engine/chassis manual and Toyota says there's no more left, you can ring Toyota Customer Service and ask about their photocopying service. They will work out a price, you send them the dollars and then some poor work experience kid has a lot of photocopying to do! It took a few ...

I've got the FSM if you ever need any info. The wiring diagrams are grouped by accessory, eg. air conditioning, external lighting, etc.
It tells you the wire color-code but you still need to know where on the loom this wire should be.

I could go measure my xtra-cab between the wheel arches if you like, but as it has a different frame to a dual cab you should probably find out where the mounting points are as well.

http://www.toymods.org.au may be a good place to ask about that specific engine... also a company called LC Engineering in the US is probably the largest supplier of (performance) parts for that engine. another forum called the old celica owners club is full of people who work on the 22R series of ...

Wow, I think I've just met someone who likes their xtra-cab more than me... I actually plan to remove the ADD setup on my truck and install manual hubs at some stage. It will decrease wear on the front drive components and free up some more space in the engine bay for other cool things like a 2nd ...

22R 2.4L petrol, big rubber... I get about 14L/100km using Premium Unleaded. Should get better when I do a bit of a tuneup and fix those dragging brakes It's only done about 170,000km and should go for a while yet. I'd either drop in a nice Toyota turbo diesel or pickup a 2nd hand 22R that's ...

Seeing as no one else has replied... About the best I can tell you is the body shape at the back is different. I think the '84 model is wider, but it may be the other way around. The body overhang on the chassis would be different too. What sort of bar is it? after all, a retro-fit isn't exactly ...
