Has anyone got any pics or details on how to adapt hydro assist steering onto an FJ40 that already has power steering?

Air locker difficult to disengage

Hi All,

Do air lockers generally stay in until your car has rotated to release or should they release straight away?

Also my back locker is leaking air out of the diff breather, is this a common problem? just an O ring or something?

LPG guages, looking for different ideas

Hi, just looking to put something together so i have an LPG guage on the dash. Looking to create my own from 9 LED's as I believe most tanks run a 90ohm sender from the tank.

Has anyone done this before? am I wrong about most tanks being 90ohm?

Are there any other ideas out there?

Thanks

Re: 33" tyres on sand?

Sand absorbs alot of power, don't expect to be able to drive in 4H, stay in 4L It does absorb a lot of power but dont go to 4L unless you need to, My D40 Navara has got shit loads of lag and I still have only used 4L to recover someone, Just remember when lowering your tyre pressure the when ...

Navara D40 Problem, Low range wont disengage

G'day This is just a notice to let everyone know that i had a problem with my D40 ST-X manual today. Today I had an issue with low range unable to disengage by the selector switch located on the dash. The 4LO indicator light on the dash flashed and after a while the 4WD light came on and stayed on ...

HILUX FRONT DIFF, WHAT AM I?

My friend has a 93 Model 4X4 hilux (RN110 if this helps) front IFS, 22R motor. When he purchased the car he was told the diff was out of a landcruiser? he has informed me that the ratio seems to be around 4.75 so i would assume 4.88:1 would be it. at the moment the pinion is able to move up/down/in ...

what flex are you wanting to achieve, up or down. this makes a difference with what leafs to use and how many, if you wish to have more down travel remove the pins in the top of the clips that hold the leaf springs together, that way when you flex down effectively your longest leaf being the top ...

the problem i ran into with mounting a low mount winch upside down was that the brake only works in one direction, when you invert the winch you need it to spool in the opposite rotation, which means that the brake does not work.
only a problem if you are parked on a hill winchin in.

Ive have owned a D22 and now own a D40. If you are going to do any 4WDing the D40 id definately the way to go, it has alot better gearing. turbo lag is a slight issue but not when 4WDing. the rear springs in the D40 are a bit firm, a little jumpy when going around corners with bumps (without a load ...

it seems funny how when replying nobody asks the obvious questian what sort of gas system do you have? if you hold the revs up and flick it over does it run on gas? if it runs on gas at revs but not idle then its an idle mixture problem. leaking gas can be dangerous so take it to an expert and get ...

FJ40 wont run on gas

Hi my FJ40 will no longer start on gas, it does however run on petrol fine. The solonoid is allowing the gas into the converter but i dont know how the converter works? the problem you will have will be the brake operation, unless when you spin it you come off the top of the drum instead of the bottom.
