Re: 1VD-FTE adaptability
Depends what it is going into you would also need to use the 7X's transfer box as the input/output shafts are different. If it were a conversion i would use the engine, gearbox and transfer out of the 7X series

Have you tried spinning the tyre on the rim? it takes awhile but you can balance the tyre to the rim and use less weight.

You have been told wrong info, the stud pattern is the same, but depending wich way you want to go the wheels might not fit (100-> 200 no as the brakes are bigger unless you have 17" 100 series rims)starky wrote:no not the same as 100 series i have been told

Re: Power steering Pump/Box - rebuild or changover? Melb
I rebuilt my pump on my 1FZ-FE Landcruiser pump for $110. Bearing, seal, o-rings and new shaft. This pump is a gear driven pump but they are nearly all the same inside.
This
pump on a 1HZ. Wasn't hard to do and learnt a bit on the way.
Yep same as above for mine (pump only not box)

Re: Ute tipper - how hard and how much.
Worst case if the cable breaks its going to slam back down on the trailer frame, possibly damaging it, but i doubt anyone would be injured.
This is the thing that I think would be a bit unacceptable without a safety feature. But thinking about it, I don't think it would be too hard to come up ...
