Well now after i have set the new gap from around .8mm to about .5mm i have a spark. I was thinking that .8 was to big. But n-e-way So it running but not really well now it is back firing and missing but thanks it starts now i think its just timing now. I run out of light so will have a look ...

was just thinking then what would happen if the new points were set at the wrong gap maybe i was told the wrong gap just double checking whats the gap ment to be set on the hilux

ok i have replace the same thing and done the same thing but no spark i am getting power into the coil but nothing coming out there is nothing wrong with the coil have had it running on other hilux and there is no spark anywhere i have done all the thing that all of you have said and i just can ...

yes the rotor button spins when the motor turns over
how do you check the hi tension lead
also the engine won't fire at all even with the coil hard wired with straight power
yes the coil has a ballest resistor wired to it and it runs power through it

ok sorry i sould have said that i have check that to the rotor button and cap are fine have check them on an other running hilux and the points are fine have set the gap on them and the gap was fine. So i don't know
