Don't really need a steering wheel puller, but I spose it might make it a little easier. Undo the nut the holds the steering wheel on, but don't take it off completely. Hit both sides of the steering wheel with your hands a few times to hopefully loosen it off the shaft. Plant both feet in the ...

I replaced my GQ Patrol with a Sierra because of how much it cost to run. Also, Suzuki's are cheap to fix and considerably cheaper to modify, and as an added bonus, I consistently find that my midly modified Sierra embaresses owner of much larger modified Crusiers and Patrols.

They are actually mechanical secondaries, but are vaccuum actuated. To see if they are opening, with the top cover off the carby, give it a rev and smother the top of the carby with your hand to restrict airflow. You should see the acuator pulling up and the secondary linkages working.

I'm getting a mobile mech to check it out Fri morning for a 2nd opinion on the engine.

On the paper work from my local mech that I had the car towed to originally it said they did a compression test, the timing belt seems ok & intact. Piston 3 dead.

Swap leads 2 and 3 around and backfire it through the carby a few times. Then swap leads 2 and 3 back to normal and see if this fixes your problem. If there is any crap blocking any ports or jets in the carby, this may fix it, otherwise you may have to pull it off and rebuild.
Oh, and check you fuel ...

thats the idle up solenoid for your headlights.

if its working correctly it should open up when you turn them on.

That is correct, and the idle up can be adjusted via the 10mm bolt below the screw. It's possible the previous owner did'nt know how to adjust it properly, causing the carby to hunt ...

to test if your secondaries are opening when they should be, take the air snorkel off the top of the carby and start the engine. With the engine running, rev it and put your hand or a rag over the top of the carby to block air flow and create a vacuum. At this point (before the engine stalls) you ...

What tyre pressures are you running. The tyre placard on mine say to run 20 psi which I used to think was quite low, but that is what I run now. Made the ride a fair bit better, but all in all you have to remember, it is a Sierra and the ride is never going to be great.
