they do work but find you need to up the cable size. i put 2 merrit plugs and a cig' plug in the back of mine. just pulled off the rear panel and floor trims and ran 3 runs of dual core 20 amp cable (i always go more amp the required for safety) wired up to second battery with blade fuse on each run ...

tcis insurance brokers do a 4wd specific policy.

i've got my 2001 gu with them, full off road coverage including river crossings and beach use agreed value $35000 for $700 a year.

a mate also with tcis had a few claims and found them easy to deal with.

picked up a complete disc brake rear diff housing (axles rotors calipers backing plates) minus the diff center. fitted it up yesterday with my carrier out of the drum diff housing without a drama.

p.s. my drum brake rear was coil sprung and this will not work with leaf rear diff.

have had same issue a while back, a new soliniode will set you back around $45 or you could replace your control box with a spartin soliniode under the bonnet with a remote incab switch. i'm putting one of these in soon as they are more reliable and less prone to issues http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TITAN ...

drum brake diff into disc brake diff housing

have done a search with out much luck so here's my thing

currently have a swb gq with drum brake rear diff with arb air locker fitted.
want to change to and fit up a disc brake housing .
wondering if my diff center/carrier from drum housing will fit into the disc brake housing
