Hi i have one to but not sure how it works either as I am in the process of restoring it andas it needs the clutch done the tanks coming out and maybe then I will be able to work the system out .
Also where is your fill point for your second tank mine is under the bonnet behind the battery

okay i borrowed my dads mechanics stethescope ? spelling
The noise was coming from the 2 injector i tried everywhere else on the motor and that was where the noise was coming from
so could it be the injectors making the noise if so whats the best thing to do now ?

will the tappets sound like a petrol motor or is it different on a diesel because it dosent sound like the same as my old magna and those tappets were shit
I have to get a dial gauge to check the endfloat so i will know for sure

2h engine noise

Hi i have a sharp rapping/clattering sound in the motor I am unsure what it is the book says it could be crankshaft endfloat if this is the case can i change all the bearings and thrust washers while the motor is still in the car ?
I know these motors can be noisey is this just a standard sound ...

Hi guys i looked at a 60series with a 2h in it
it started ok and ran well when i checked the aircleaner on the engine side when i ran my finger inside it had a coating of a black oily substance is this normal ? or what causes this ?

Seems like there isnt as much gap as i thought between diesel and lpg .
Do the 2 f or 3f motors require headwork before lpg ?
Do the early 60 series have to use that upper cylinder lubricant ? If they were originaly leaded
Range shouldnt be a real problem 300 ks is ...

I am going to have to think long and hard about this as i again am leaning back towards a 60/62 maybe its because i have owned one before and i dont mind the ride as it is a truck also i want be doing any hardcore 4x4 more beach and landcruiser park type places

I have done a few petrol engines but never done any diesel stuff If the basic principles the same for putting them back together then i would not think i would have to many problems :cool:

I think i will keep an eye out for a cheap 80 otherwise i will get the nissan thanks for all your help guys I ...

Can the diesels survive much mistreatment ? if i got one with low ks that hasnt been serviced as it should will it continue on its decline or will it help with correct servicing
What would you suggest is a good amount of ks 200000 or less ?

I am driving an Au fairmont atm and its getting 12l/100 around town so i dont mind a couple of litres more for the advantages of owning a 4x4
May still keep the Ford as resale isnt great on them
I also owned a nissan 720 dual cab diesel a while ago i liked that .

I want to get another 4x4 i have previously owned a 60 petrol and got rid of that because of the poor economy
I would like to get a diesel this time around
What is the best for reliability and ongoing costs also economy ?
