Don't do it, it will create the same problem as the 'plastic'
Either cut the sills, plate with a piece of heavy wall RHS or plate, or make bars/sliders.
Checkerplate offers nothing but 'bling factor' and opportunity for rust underneath.

Considering that it was the first real time you've driven that chariot, I'm stoked for you, you certainly did well, especially against alot of the high capital units.
Time to bring it up the farm.....we'll have a bash.
Heres a few simple shots....

What changes have been made since the last round of work to get it rego'd ??
Layto....
There were a number of details, most of which revolved around the engineers certificate. For further info, see Germo on the weekend.
The hoops have been jumped through, and the car is now ready to roll. :D ...

Looks like its to be painted yellow with metallic purple flames (see pic ripped off that someone here did for BIGSTEVE ages ago) or possibly red with purple, at least it will match the hilux then.

When my sierra had MQ diffs i ran the MQ booster. It did require some minor firewall adjustments but nothing major. It worked a treat even with the 36" tyres.
As Mud4b said swap out your break lines for braided units. A worthwhile upgrade even if you're running the GQ master cylinder.

so why the change in diffs? Can understand the desire to change engine/box, kinda accepting the other mods, but I keep wondering where your headed.
Basically, you want a Buggy, but for whatever reason not prepared to do it now, that is cool and I understand, but then your suggesting basically ...

Motivation has struck and I'm trying to get my butchered/mixmatched zook back to 'standard looking' for rego purposes.
My current frustration is that I have a 1.3 zook engine, a 1L front clip, and am endeavouring to temporarily use a 1L air cleaner so that its all zook and looks 'factory'.
Now the ...

Germo.....Centres (here's my chinese whisper...)
LJ80 have 4.6 centres
1 litre (NT) have 4.1 centres
1.3 litre (NT) have 3.9 centres
1.3 litre (WT) have 3.7 centres
Vitara's...to my limited knowledge they came in 4.6's and 5.1's
NT come in two types, 1 litre, and 1.3.
They are the same width ...

Firstly, we all are aware, I'm sure, that standard Sierra rim is 15"x5.5", with a 5 on 5.5 P.C.D.
Secondly, we are well versed that the common mod is to use either early F100 15x8", ur Feroza 15x7" rims...
The above is old news...
These days, Suzuki has a number of different models which, on ...

if you had a 1.3 body & dash, then the 42o.d. tube will just fit. on a 1 litre body and dash, cutting is required.
would be a big job fitting a 1.3 dash into a 1ltr as they mount verry diferantly. a 1ltr dash is part or the body and would have to be picked out.
Mock :D
Agree, it's easier to ...

Not at all.
Fire wall is absolutelly different, tranny tunnel is not as wider, tranny stick hole is diferent, dashbords nuts are lower, body studs are shorter, rubber body mounts are smaller.
All other things are the same. I mounted a SJ410 body over my Samurai, using a Samurai Resine Top and old ...

Time for a new thread on this as all the older ones have no pics..
I'm about to do a virtual lift on my zook, and to those who have done it I am wondering about a few things.
1. How much did you raise the guard?
2. Which method did you find easiest to cut the body?
Cutting it into tabs and ...
