Re: Patrol wheel offset

thanks Geec. They are the std steel wheel 6 spoke with the real small hole between the spokes. It is coil.
Now +10 means the outer rim is offset inward from the hub mount flange right?

elec rust protection

hey guys, I've just bought a GU ute and need to get some rust protection happening as i plan on doing some beach work. I'm after your opinions of what brands, types etc. I've looked on the net a bit but every brand claims theirs is the best and it gets a bit confusing.
thanks for your input

I have pulled out my diffs to change gears from the stock 4.88 to 3.5. now the pinnion gear won't fit. It fouls up on the inside of the housing by 4 to 5 mm on diameter, and is still about 10mm before the bearing seats down. has anyone done this? are there different housings? After any advice before ...

I just did a 253 conversion. I bought a brand new landcruiser radiator. 4 core, same width as hilux, so no need to modify toe support panel, but got the side plates changed over, and the bottom outlet put on other side. 550 all up and works brilliant. one thing i had to do was extend the bottom ...

it could also be the starter relay, and also the solenoid on the starter. if the motor winds over very slowly but you are sure the battery is good, the starter might need a clean out and as the other person, need new contacts / brushes. If you are mechanically minded, have a play with these things ...

I too wanted to put the commo v6 into my lux, but in the end it would turn too expensive. i have ended up going for a carb 253. much cheaper to put in, but with the v6 being fuel injected, it would be better in the long run. I've found upgrading to another toyota motor would be more expensive ...
