just because it is a w58 manual housing doesnt mean it will fit the 7m. it will only fit if the housing is from the m series engines. so if you got it from a wrecker and he tells you "yeah mate its a m series" like i had been told so many times it wont fit. it may be from a g series which are very ...

hi pinion diffs have a oil slinger to get the oil to the pinion bearings. maybe look into one of these while the centre is out. buy the gregory's or whatever book for your model of car. always handy to have heaps of information about the model and it will have the torque readings and 'how to's' for ...

i found that ther earlier generation 4.8's have a thinner crown wheel when compared to the later 4.8's. so if you are using the older crown in a newer housing thisa may have a problem. i had them laying side by side so i definately know there is a difference

Cooling problems

I have the problem of when 4x4ing at low speeds with highish rpm the temp climbs. This also happens travelling at low rpm and high freeway speeds. Currently there is a 3 core radiator with two ten inch pusher fans and no engine fan. The gap between engine and radiator is about 10cms. Also the upper ...

If you have a 4 pin carrier a mini ...

if the gen1 hiux has the same opening for the rad as the gen 2 then you will be able to fit 2 10" fans. a little cutting of the tin that stops airflow and you could get those fastenersw that go through the radiator finsto hold them in place. my two are working perfectly and that is without and ...

an intercooler shouldnt be necessary. where is the charger located? right next to the exhaust? intake temps should not climb too greatly from the sc14. is the throttle body before or after charger? and the engine is a 4y-e because of injection?

if you have a 4y you will most likely have a two core like my old 3y had. If you want more efficient cooling you should upgrade to a 3-core. Some of the newer lux's i have seen in the wrecking yard have got 3-cores in them and they seem to be 15-25mm thicker because of the extra core. There is also ...

the best thing about this conversion is that it all bolts up with no fab needed. clutch being used is from the old hilux as it was a new one. power steer will come with your new engine, all you have to do is get some new lines made up by enzed or whoever. you get the bell housing and clutch setup ...
