They are standard thread bolts but are tight.

all 2.6 were EFI so it should be easy to convert back to EFI
you should be able to put the later model diff's in
I have a 89 2.6 jack and i think the chassis is the same from 81-92
i think they changed to the bigger diffs in 88

Jack up passenger side wishbone undo the bottom ball joint. Remove the inner cv boot clamp, slide the boot back , remove the circlip then slide the cv out. Take the cap of the outer hub with the switch (lock-free) then there is a circlip that holds the outer axel in remove it then the cv can be ...

Pre 88 jack has a smaller diff. And you won't find a MU in Australia that was built after 96 :x dam import laws

About 98 they went to coils on the MU also 88-91 jackaroo has the same diff as the MU they all have the same diff lock as rodeo.

I would say it's for a Frontera or MU. The MU on the left has a Rodeo bar the one on the right is a MU one. If you look where the bar ends the Rodeo one is not wide enough

Both the rodeo and MU came with the drop down grill. A MU bar is slightly wider than the rodeo one

Go the diesel :D I have some Isuzu MU's very close to the rodeo and the 2.6 petrol gets about 15L per 100k and the 2.8T diesel gets about 8L per 100k and I can go up the same hill in 5th in the diesel at 100 km/h but the petrol has to go back to 3rd to stay at 100 km/h

The 2.8 MU’s are cheaper and easer for parts you can buy a brand new motor for $2500 and as for power there not much different. I got 3 MU’s 1 petrol and 2 diesels the petrol is heavy on fuel the diesel gets about 8.5L per 100k
