Everyone going to KOH should create an account and sign this E patition. I think we can learn alot from the way Americans fight land use issues. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/save-johnson-valley-ohv-area-be-fiscally-responsible-stop-29-palms-marine-base-expansion-keep-public/5r0C7Xw4 ...

Re: Atlas transfer adaptor

An atlas will bolt straight to the jeep aw4. I've read about guys in the states swapping the tail housing and output shaft in the Toyota A340 to jeep Cherokee parts so I could only assume the same thing may possible for the Vitara aw4.

Re: tube bender

Can't help with ram selection as I just stole the air hydro one of my engine crane and replaced it with a normal manual one but definitely double check the outside radius as the swag bracket is really tight around the ram. Other thing I noticed is you can't torque down the through bolt on the ...

Dual case length

I'm chasing the length of a dual gear driven hilux transfer case setup preferably behind a th700 auto from the auto output to the rear output shaft flange. Just trying to figure out a few measurements for an upcoming project and decide if the extra gearing options of the twin cases are worth the ...

Re: KOH2012

Dan jump on pirate and have a read of the 2012 KOH course info thread and the other threads in the competition section, best source of info as Dave Cole is posting updates. Your best bet for accommodation is renting an RV through a company that delivers to the lake bed so your all set up when you ...

Re: The Welding Thread

Im no expert but i think you need to slow your travel speed down or turn the wire speed down a little. Looks like your weld is sitting up on top because your moving to fast, if you slow it down you'll end up with a flatter stronger weld. Also try and work on keeping your speed more uniform, can tell ...

Re: 4 link and links

Was a really good tech thread on pirate about 7075 Vs 6061 Vs 4130 and heat treated 4130. There are a few companies in the states making heat treated links at prices comparable to solid 7075, I'll see if I can dig up a link to the thread. I gather this rig is going to see a little go fast action ...

We use a really large hook, is pretty heavy but fits both loops easy as! not sure on brand but i found a stash out at work so will have another 3 by weeks end  Any chance you'd be looking to offload one of the stash? It would be great if even one strap eye would fit in that shieldsy

Bit off topic but what brand/size hooks are you guys running to easily connect straight through the eyes in ur straps? I'm looking at a beaver hook in the 16mm size, big enough? http://www.beaver.com.au/?stm_a=77|&stm_h=m;484|ma;4337|r;e440fcebb2ca56be&m=484|&ma=viewproduct|&r ...

Re: Production class, best car to start with..

Probally going to get hated on here but a jeep would rock the production class. Plenty of wheel travel, pretty fast with the 4L, tight turning circle, light so the winch will drag its ass up nice and quick, heaps of clearance compared to patrols and such under the diffs, heaps of room for the ...
