Bring them on. The more wanklocks there are the better. less chance of getting pulled up with real ones fitted
in defense, replaceable outer rings are a great at protecting the rim. the down side is they are bitch to keep clean, well my real ones are.

Creepies are bias ply and the side walls are super thick. 14psi under a cruise doesn't bag the sidewalls ;)
Understand that the flex in the creepies is designed into the tread area itself, not the sidewall. This is to allow the tyre to flex and grip and still turn on rocks with the sidewall ...

Just for the record, unless you've owned and driven both I'm not sure your opinion counts.
I have 86 YN67 and now 96 FZJ80 and I will ALWAYS drive an AUTO off road from now on. Driving off road but not needing low range doesn't count either
WTF? All my 4B's see plenty of offroad. Only on ...

I have never driven an auto offroad but go wheeling with a few and the normal topic of conversation is usually along the lines of "how's the transmission temp mate, or i gotta stop for a while cos mines overheating" this is always the auto brigade
How many of them use low range to climb hills ...

Was bored at work so thought I'd do a bit of research into this, as I'm looking at changing my diffs up as well.
Anyway Found me a nifty little proggy that appears to be accurate as long as you have your gear ratio's etc..
Now I did this for my FZJ80 which has a A442F Auto.. so unless you have my ...

Hey Cranky, so who's C+P did you use, and are they still running ok. My 37's are killing me with the std gearing.
I was worried about the pinion on the 4.88 getting too smal but If you cant break the little sucker then ...

Thanks for the tip HG. Giving them a call right now.
87Suzi, I agree with the DIY thing and have thus far done everything myself, 4"Sups, 2"Body, rebuilt swivel hubs, all 4 brakes and callipers, etc... But tooling up to do will take more time and effort considering I just called Dave and he can do ...

Rear diff, pinion flange oil seal. Is leaking. 100% it's due to mud an shit getting in there so the bearing is most likely ok.
Q. Is it safe to do this on my own, or is a specialist job?
Q. Do I need to replace the crush tube everytime?

does anyone have any links to the hows and the do nots or advice excluding the fact it needs engineering.
The reason for 25mm is I do not want to have to cut my sticks nor be to high with my 5" spring lift and 49 swampers complete with a 502ci keith black just to say the least....

i think a trans brake will be the go
atleast ya get a mechanical advantage then (4:1)? should make it a little easier, although the pads will probably wear out quicker? (faster rpm?)
??? Why would the pads on a handbrake wear out. The vehicle should be stopped prior to engaging the brake ...

You need to watch it , when isolating the positive side of the battery the cheeper switches tend to fry them selves
Agree check the load, most of these are rated to 50 or 100Amps Max.
I believe Pirahna now have a 1000Amp switch availble that will lighten your wallets.

It's not difficult to do a body lift on an 80 series
well i should of said very but its harder to do the body lift than the bigger coils
Only a pain if he's already got the bar work set for standard.
Also I wouldnt bother for only 1"
If it's that hardcore then bring out the gasaxe.

I've raised this on other forums and the Datsun guys reckon their Trans brakes aren't much better either. I find that once I do get the sludge out and adjust it again it works fine, good enough to lock up the rear. but it only takes one decent puddle to undo the good work.

EVERY trip it gets filled with mud and stops working, it's the biggest pain to clean too as you have to pull the callipers to drop the hubs. The one time I didnt and left it (for 2 weeks between trips, it chewd the pads out to nothing and I had to replace the hubs! Who ever designed the thing should ...

Yeah had em done for the 2" bodylift. I should be getting royalties for the number of of pics that have been posted of the front rear and side bars.
