Its for a gq td42, originally it was an ATI kit fitted back in the late 80's i believe.
The turbo's are now obsolete, as they no longer make spares for them, i need a new exhaust housing (mines cracked most of the way around). I'm not sure if its the same as the gu one or not, but the guy said that ...

Need a new turbo
Well after being told my turbo is irrepairable, i priced a mistsubishi turbo and dump pipe to suit the TD42 for $1600.
Dunno what size it is but it is from the kit that MTQ in Laverton (Melb) sell...
Does this sound like normal pricing or am i getting ripped?

hi i dont know if the laws in vic are the same but i just recently put a repairable writeooff back on the road. if the car is over 10 years old it doesn't need to be inspected only needs a roadworthy. hope the law in qld is the same as it saved me heaps of time and $400 not having to get it inspected.

I had this problem with my car, not enough room for a panel filter, went and brought a K&N pod filter (3 inch outlet).
Then brought plumbers pvc piping (white stuff) with a screw on end cap, cut a 3" hole in the cap so the filter goes inside the pipe, and got fittings for the other end to reduce ...

Some mud racers use tuppaware containers with a hole cut in the bottom of it, put the dizzy through the hole and put it back on the motor, drill holes in the side of the container and put rubber grommets in them and push the leads through them, keep the lid off the container until you go off road ...

For all you diesel guru's
I've just fitted a Pyro to my GQ turbo'ed 4.2 diesel, in the exhaust manifold, before the turbo, NOT in the dump pipe like many others. Took it for a spin and 3500rpm in 4th gear (120+kmh) it reads around the 600c mark... is this ok? I understand everyone says not to go over the 550c mark but (from ...

I did this to my non whinch bar, i used a big thick piece of 'C'section and cut the bottom part of the bar away, welded the 'c' section to the rails that go into your chassis, and also welded some more plates to brace it back to the chassis as a safe measure, all up round $150 got me a nice looking ...

Im doing it to my non-winch bar at the moment, using a piece of c section steel to sit the winch into and bracing it back onto the chassis. The way i'm mounting it all the force will be going directly into the chassis and not on the bar, but the winch will still be mounted on the bar.... If that ...

I run a set of 16x8s rice tyres on my mud racer, they are the equivelant to a 33" and most of the other boys run 18" rims which are about 35" tyres. I have driven my car on the road a few times, normal tractor lugs drive like a muddy or simex, the rice cripping tyres are a lot harsher on the road ...
