5.12 vitara front diffs in sierra

I am running 5.125 diffs in 90 model sierra after breaking both in one night run ,alloy casings fatigued and broke open damaging crown and pinion I am wondering if others have had problems, if it is worth puting 5.1 diff centre gearing into steel sierra centre casing ? Which ones fit ?do they need ...

Yes i have posted in the wanted section with no luck,

vitara front diff

Does anyone no who sells vitara front diff centres having trouble sourcing
them.After 5.125 ratios ,aluminium casing out of a 1.6 grand vitara 1999/2000 mod auto i think ,rang every wrecker and no luck.
Didnt think they would be this hard to get hold of can any one help

I had the same problem with the filler plugs on my gu,
heated the out side of the plug with one of those
propane torches that you get from camping stores.
Made it easy to undo :lol:

Took Bog-oor out for a run on the weekend in the Otways fantastic trip got home and found we had a broken leaf in the rear looks like we have axel wrap.

Can anyone suggest anyone who can make up an axel wrap bar around Melbourne area?

I thought the guy that built the car would have ironed out ...

We have had one on our boat trailer for the last 3yrs, works a treat.Boat gets used three days a week,no problems retreiving an 18ft off the beach.
Replaced original wire with plasma heaps better :) :) :)

Hey Objet!

Thanks for your advice. I pulled out the transfer lever, there was a fair bit of corrosion around the rails, I flushed out the transfer case and put in some fresh oil. Put everything back together, went for another run down the beach and would you believe that it went again!!
