Re: Cutting Alloy profiles
I have never used the high speed Brobo so i cant comment. As for the Omega there is no problem with it, anything Italian made when it comes to this type of machinery is the best. As i have said earlier the style most commonly used for profile cutting is similar to the Omega you posted (many of ...

Hilux Steering Box
A friends son (L Plater) has a 1985 hilux 2.4? Diesel that has very sloppy steering. I have tried adjusting the box but it is still very sloppy :bad-words: Is there a rebuild kit or replacement reconditioned steering boxes out there i can get to replace the current item. It isn't power steering and ...

Re: Cutting Alloy profiles
I've cut alot of alloy extrusings on a normal drop saw, just make sure blade is high tooth count (finishing or fixout blade) and go slow. Cladding extrusings have many shapes etc and ive never really had a problem. very accurate and only grabs if you try to cut too fast. You can get the specific ...

Re: Bru's Iveco Daily 4x4 based Expedition Vehicle
Mate, we have the probably biggest seat they make and it fits in rearward facing. We had two of the same seat on the Mackay trip (both rearward in the center) and they fitted. The front passenger seat was 2 clicks forward of the back position, and I am sure with a smaller seat it could go all the ...

Hey mate, I find it easier to drive that the cruiser. Great visability, cruise control, better gearbox and ratios, Parking is a breeze, even at bunnings, woolies etc. Very square makes easy corner finding. Very interesting, when the baby is out of a rear facing baby seat i may have to look at one ...

I saw a dual cab iveco like your Bru yesterday and very surprised with the size of them, no where as big as I was expecting them to be and look like they could be driven everyday as daily driver.

Re: 1HZ or 1HD-T
Well given the type of driving you say you are going to do, an IFS 100 series would make more sense. That gives you the factory turbo diesel option. The down side is it costs a bit more money to buy. I would assume you are in the 10-20k range now. A good TD 100 will be high 20s. But the reality is ...

Exactly right milo. The amount of crap I read from the guys who have converted to stock 1HDFTE's is rediculous. They recon they have so much power it's not funny, snap axles etc etc. I deal with plenty of them, and they are fantastic engines with the POTENTIAL for great power. The same as the guys ...

Re: 1HZ or 1HD-T
I wasn't really looking at modifying the engine (if i wanted to do that i would buy a blown 3l patrol or a mega high km 2.8 patrol and put a fte in it), i just wanted a tourer that would spend 85% of time on road incl towing a small 16ft caravan and off road will only be mild dirt trails and the ...

Re: 1HZ or 1HD-T
If I had the money I would just buy a 105 with a 1hd fate as there wouldn't be much of a price difference by the end of the conversion to make the time and effort worth while.oldmate wrote:They are both crap engines.
Buy a cheap petrol 105 series, convert it to a 1hd-fte.

Im looking at getting a crusier and i have been looking at the last of the 80s and a couple of 100s, now the question is am i better off with a 80 with a 1hd-t or a 100 with a 1hz with aftermarket turbo. Builds should go here i believe. Maybe you should throw up your build if you have time to kick things off. Ill put mine up when i start but i'm early in design and parts choices but i'm keeping a journal so to speak to document it from the very beginning.
