2003 GU ST ZD30 wagon for sale nearby my place (ACT), 122K kms, minor lift, bull bar, chipped engine, straight body.

found this out when cut off in traffic earlier today, when ignition is on the horn wont work, but when the is ignition off it does!

any suggestions?

including pulling radiator out of Vit, replacing top tank, cleaning radiator, flushing system, testing thermostat & new coolant - $250.80

dropped the Vit off at Natrad in Osbourne Park yesterday to get the radiator serviced - 60% blocked!

due to the limited space under the '93 G16V Vit's bonnet, was thinking of adding a dry cell battery as the second battery & install it above the passenger side front wheel arch.

the idea is to lay the dry cell battery on its side due to the lack of space (in the engine bay) in the corner of the ...

cracked alloy head - got stung $2K for that one! , check the oil to make make sure there's no coolant in the sump.

spent about an hour today, checking all connections & cleaned all the bugs & crap out of the radiator & the aircon fan.....& all works fine now.

thanks for the advice on the radiator fan, by aircon fan do you mean the factory fitted electric thermo fan attached to the front of the radiator?

cruising in the '93 1.6 G16b Vit wagon coming back from Gingin the other day, sitting on 100km with headwind (OK struggling) & aircon going & the temp gauge got up to 3/4!

the next day, checked all hoses & the radiator for leaks, replaced the thermostat, back flushed the cooling system & topped up ...

when replacing the thermostat do i need a gasket of any sort?

any advice?

Ran the engine for 10 minutes with the radiator cap off - bubbles!

no milky oil on the filler cap.

soooooo hopefully it is only a head gasket. can i get these from Repco or similar?

noticed that the coolant is slowly disappearing - there are no noticible leaks in the cooling system.

then i noticed when checking the engine (G16B, '93 Vit stationwagon, 170K on engine) oil that there was milky condensation on the upper part of the dipstick (where it it sits inside dipstick ...

cracks in the block? is this common for the G16B? would coolant in the oil in the sump be an indicator of this?

any other places in Perth?

driving home in the rain tonight in the '93 JLX LWB Vitara, went to lower the drivers side electric window an inch or 2, press the button & BANG! the glass drops down into the door - press the button, no joy!

after 25km driving in the rain, i'm into the shed, popped of the interior panel, unscrewed ...

Would this fit in a '93 5 door Vit?

Due to offset rims, will need to install flares on wheel arches - too much mud & crap up sides of '93 LWB Vit.
