Re: 2.8 performance fuel pump
Just ya power figures so I know what to expect when I get around to finishing mine off. I know it wont be huge. It's not like you need huge amounts of power though. Good combination of suspension, tyres and lift will take you anywhere.

Re: 2.8 performance fuel pump
Yeah I'm not going to be running anymore than 15psi once I've installed the my w2a intercooler. Seeing the boost sooner brings the need for more go pedal down. That's my theory anyway haha. Does anyone have any power figures on them?

Re: 2.8 performance fuel pump
I was only saying installing an intercooler would make it safer with higher boost. Any mods to bring on boost sooner is better IMO. As long as it's not being thrashed what harm could it bring?

Re: 2.8 performance fuel pump
Will you be running an intercooler? That'll make it safer to up the boost a bit more. Running the turbo IP theres a couple little mods you can do to see boost sooner too. Turning the boost comp rod to use the either shorter or longer ramp. And also drilling the input line on the boost compensator hat

Fixed the issue. Well I had to replace the pump. Tried cracking the lines, turning, turning, nothing. All is good now.

Re: boost compensated IP on to 2.8 (3L) engine
Tired running it. Found it was just the underside of the boost inlet top bit. So just vents to air. Wasnt sure where it went to but was told to just leave it. Then the pump didnt end up working anyway so it got canned. Put a non turbo injector pump on and it fired up straight away ffs haha

Ln106 power steering issue
So after getting my lux running. Go to turn the wheel and it feels quite heavy. Is there a special way to bleed the system? Or will my steering box be buggered?

boost compensated IP on to 2.8 (3L) engine
Hey guys, I have a boost comp injector pump I want to install onto my 3L engine. I've been trying to find out where the 2nd line would go to coming off the compensator. I know one tees into a boost pressure line but I'm not too sure about the other one. I've circled the on in a pic below.

Re: Hilux with 3L running cool - 70c
Sounds like it could be a slight leak from the head gasket, or oil cooler? Somewhere the water can come in contact with the oil if a gasket was to fail.
Compression test will confirm if it's the head gasket.

Re: To run this turbo or not?
well I know it's not a 6L petrol turbo that's for sure haha. In comparison to the CT20 it looks very similar in sizing. I'm pretty sure it's from a small perkins engine also. Which was diesel. When you say A/r ratios are only a small part of the equation, what do you mean? Because I was under the ...

To run this turbo or not?
So i have a garret housed turbo with 42/48ish a/r ratio'd housings, only thing is its only oil cooled and not internally gated. Do i run this, with a small external gate or will i be better off running a ct20? Really want some opinions to persuade me on what to decide on running. I have a spare ct20 ...
