Turbo installation questions

I have just "aquired" a Garrett GT25 and custom manifold for my TD42. It is a standard NA 4.2 in a 99 GU wagon. The question I have is where are the best spots to pick up and return oil. I know a few people return it into the sump but surely for a motor with a turbo variant, it would have somewhere ...

Dunno if its the same but most of the 105s we have at work do a bearing sort of noise while not under load. They do it from new and Toyota don't really seem to care when its bought up with them. Since they are work cars, we don't chase it much since they don't seem to blow in the 60000 kays we have ...

I seem to have fixed a fair bit of my problem, I had something not on the first list I made, A bit too much slack in the steering box, All I did was undo the nut on top, tighten the screw a bit and and did the nut back up, Far better, now to get a rear balance again and problems should be sorted.

Yeah well i was thinking that a (I know I didn't say 1.3 but either that or 1.6 turbo) 1.3 or 1.6 would be light enough and with a turbo have a bit of zip about it. Something else reasonably cheap and with a bit of go would be okay, its got a 1.0 in it at the moment, maybe a corolla motor with an ...

Winch Challenge Suzuki

I am considering building a purpose built Winch Challenge Suzuki and i'm after opinions. I have access to a 85 LWB ute, pretty rough but really cheap. What I am wondering is if this could be a competative machine. I have seen a few LJ's used such as kermit, I am thinking - Turbo 1.6 conversion ...

We had one for a few years, my girlfriend loved it. It was a shorty two door. It had basically no mods except a bigger battery and a UHF. We took it from Melbourne to QLD and Fraser island a few years ago and up and down the beaches. It cost us next to nothing to drive up and back. It was an honest ...

I have a near new set of 285/75/16 Xterrains, They seem very good at most things a normal muddy is good at. I have had BFG Muddies, All Terrains and Goodyear MTRs and as far as offroad and general highway driving, they beat the MTRs hands down. I went away from the BFG's due to several sidewall ...

I have x-terrains on my GU - im happy with them as road tyres and reasonable offroaders, obviously they are not boggers but they seem to have a reputation for good kays, from what I have done, are as good as a muddys in the mud and are good on most surfaces. Im really happy with them after having ...
