I'm considering buying a v8 discovery. My max budget is around $5000. From what i've read in the forum i'm best of with a 94 onwards Auto.

From what i've read v8 auto should be about 20ltrs/100 on gas?

Is there more maintainence and repairs needed for a landrover than a jap 4wd of the same age ...

It receives all the regular maintenence stuff.

I checked the exhaust manifold and it has a small crack. It's a fine crack about 3 or 4 cm long. I'll look into getting another manifold or extractors for it.

What kind of fuel figures are you getting on your Vitaras?

In my 92 model swb g16a carb i'm getting 11L/100 on the highway doing just over 100km/h. Running standard tyres etc. I read somewhere it should be 8.5L/100 city driving, the best mine will do is 11 and is usually worse.

Does anyone know if all the suzuki caps are the same or if any other makes fit?
I know from the past that it's almost impossible to find a vitara in the wreckers near me and the nearest suzuki dealer will be shut before i can get there ...

The temperature guage in my vitara always sits on cold it only moves a few mm. Is this normal?
It's been like it since i baught it. It's had the head off to get fixed since i've owned it and new thermostat etc and is still the same.

Mine scrubed the tyres out pretty bad after putting old man emu in the front, needed camber bolts too. I'd get it aligned asap after the lift.

Sounds like leaks at the fuel filter are pretty comon. I discovered mine was leaking a couple months ago.

My 91 swb hard top manual consistantly gets about 11l / 100km, doesn't seem to make much difference weather i'm running around or doing 110 on the highway.

What does the 10P and 25P mean that the Sierra rim will be 15mm further from the hub increasing my track width by 30mm?
I'm guessing if i get a set of sunraysias from a sierra these will be wider again?

I'm looking at replacing the rusty chrome wheels on my vitara. Are the sierra wheels the same stud pattern, centre hole and offset as vitara?

I saw this on ebay too. The rear you should be able to get springs from a wrecker to fit. 180sx rear, gemini front, datsun, read the vitara bible and search the forum or go to a wrecker and measure up.

The front you might have to get custom springs, or try lifted ome or king springs, etc with coil ...

I've searched the forum and found a bit of info but not much.

Last time i got new tyres looked at 215R15 and they were chaeaper than the standard size for a 92 vitara. I think they were about $115 for hankooks from memory and desert dueller style tread pattern.

When i put ome coils and struts in the front of my vit the camber was stuffed and was chewing up the tyres pretty quick. After putting camber bolts in is pretty much spot on.

I get about 9-10L / 100 in my vit. I think the most i've done on a tank is about 360km . I don't particularly want to find just how far it goes and end up stuck on the side of the road.
To work out fuel consumption you should forget about tank size unless you fill it completely full and run it ...

I've been looking for a cargo barrier for my swb vitara, the only ones i've found are for the 4 door. Are there any companies that make one for the 2 door to go behind the front seats?
Anyone made their own?

Sikid nice idea. Trust you to come up with something like that . As it's the rear side windows i can't see a problem legally.
From memory they are a bit curved so that could be hard to get right.
