After the head was fitted, have you re adjusted the tappets again after about 1000km?
.008" (.208mm) inlet and exhaust, cold or hot. This should be checked at every service also.(10,000km intervals)
A lack of go is usually the first symptom of out of adjustment valve clearances in a Tdi.

Hey guys - would that be the LT77S box fitted to that model? Or an early R380?

Pretty sure it will be a LT77S in a 93. I don't know if the R380 even made it into the classic Rangies.

I think R380 only in europe with the last of the classic soft dashes, very rare even over there. I guess you ...

Get it rebuilt properly first time, by someone who knows what they are doing. Allomatics in Thomastown would be worth a call, 94664499. Well done with all the fabrication work, looks pretty well thought out and methodical.

modify your driving style!!!!

I doubt even Nissan stuff would stand up for long if you're doing so much damage so frequently, but there's no doubt they are stronger in the drivetrain, though not so good in other areas.

Ditto,
I am changing to a Sals rear and fine spline front with Tru Tracs ...

Check the wastegate actuator, move it with a pair of multigrips, if you can't, it is siezed and this will cause engine to cut out momentarily as it goes into overboost. The Td5 has this feature to protect it from blowing itself to bits....Also check the codes for driver demand errors, these relate ...

I would say that would depend on when it is that you are having problems.

Hot air rises, so if the problem is when you are going rear slow the best place would be on top of the bonnet. (have seen a reversed wrx scoop work very well in this instance).

If it is more at cruising speed then the air ...
