No shear pin or quick release? Looks like an accident waiting to happen. I don't think the strength is any advantage, as the cable is usually the weak link.

And the spool speeds are ridiculous. the gearing would be horrible for any motor that has to rev for torque.

It is certainly legal to flat tow in NSW, but only with a solid bar (no straps) I have seen alot of coach size campers flat towing smaller 'town' 4bies around. another issue you'll have to address, if it has a manual gear box, is a free wheel hub like system on the driven axel. if you flat tow ...

While adjusting up the shoes today, per the manual i adjusted until the drum locked. The problem is I now can't deadjust it. Being toyota built it won't handle an after market turbo (with any sort of worthwhile boost)!!! Just open the exhaust and give it some air. Then it MAY last a while. Why is it that some people say they wont handle it and other say it wont be a problem? All i want to run is about 8PSI maybe 10, is ...

Their biggest problem is that once you pull a bit, they lock up and you can't release them. I could with mine. you have to take some of the weight of the ratchet by using the lever, and then lifting the pin that locks in the wheel. losen it up by using your body to let the handle fall back, and ...

I've used one similar from Bushranger, but it's rated at 1500kg dead weight. I've used it to pull the 60 from a swamp. You got quite a workout from it, but seemed quite safe. I would think if it was too much for it, the steel rope would have slipped in those bolts you use to make a loop on the end ...

NO WAY.DONT DO IT. Never put a battery inside the cab. batteries can explode. some types of batteries emit fumes. Loose bit & pieces in the cab can cause a short circuit. although sealed units won't have the fume problem i still wouldn't do it. cheers I'm guessin they didn't think of that when land ...
