Gemini engine 200 tdi was Landrovers first proper serious diesel engine. At the time it was miles ahead of most fourby engines . Only other DI then was the 4bd1 AFAIK. 2.25 5MB was a lovable slug  Hot spots can fall out and it leaks badly..........not any stronger than petrol engine either. The ...

GU chassis v GQ

At some point in the future I am gonna lift body off my Gq lwb and cut out bad bits of chassis and weld in new sections. I have all the tools etc. It would be nice to pic up a good chassis and swop over but there are very few good Gq frames in breakers over here in UK. However there are usually GUs ...

Hi Guys I`m lexi2.25. You prolly have filters with drainback valves.......but they may not be working well. I went through that filter thing and found that one day you would take a filter off and it was full and others ....empty. This included Fleetgaurd. I don`t look at oil light on start-up now as ...

Alternator charge indicator wire. Feed it to a relay then solenoid. It will connect batterys when you rev engine and disconnect when engine stops.

I had the issue as well. After fitting a Nissan seal kit and being meticulous with slides etc I got a recon caliper. Don`t know about down under but in Europe a company called Budweg (German) provides calipers for most makes . £85 exchange for Patrol.

I was going to go back to Rover as you can get a galvanised chassis cheap in UK. If I can get Y60 exposed like that ...

Anybody done it on gq lwb ? In the long term I am gonna have to do it in order to properly refurb body mounts /chassis with welder. The toyota's and nissan's which people claim are the offroad oracle are blatant copies of the chassis design landrover introduced in the early 70's as the original rangerover. They seperated the rear suspension top link into two and added a panhard rod, that's about it. Up until recently your ...
