Thanks for all the post guys! It's an interesting read if nothing else. Unfortunately for me, my mate has taken the stance that the bet will be decided on the poll results, despite the vast majority of actual posts defending my position. Oh well it's only beer and I will help him drink it, assuming ...

hey almost the exact same thing happened to me in an xd (same as teh el) finally had a good look, the burning wasn't the switch, but the wires leading to it, turns out the previous owner decided masking tape was an acceptable way to wire up headlights. so after a bit of careful rewiring, it looks ...

Which way does curent flow?
To be honest I'm feeling a little bored and need to win a bet! So I thought I'd try and stir up a hornets nest! Do most people on this site use Conventional flow or Electron flow? Does it matter? If one is used over the other why? The right answers here could earn me a slab ( carton or box depending ...

That's seriously different! Yet some how very funny, I wonder if they are marketed by a Welsh Rugby fan?

Just today my HJ45 wouldn't start, then it took up smoking! It was from around the glove box area aswell. The starter motor was actually clicking, but there was nothing convincing about it. After much rooting around I found a combined Glow plug and Starter relay hidden in there with the wiring to it ...

Double the shackle rating??? Think about the physics of it the weight of the car is't changing..... Years ago when I was in the army reserve doing driver training, they taught us a whole heap of formuleas for this. They covered the weight of the vehicle and how it changed with 1 , 2, 3, or even up ...

I'm willing to bet the manufacture rates them completely unloaded, at the pressure of thier choice! Having just riden to work on thier treddly they'd go for say 120psi and they'd do it from behind some really thick protective screen that produces a parrellex error. Then in court they'd say " sorry ...

Cuting & steering you should not mention in same sentence. Think collaspeable shaft from box to coloumn as the thought of getting steering shaft through chest is not good. And umm search You'd have to do something incredibly mean to make your 40 want to stab you in the chest with it's own steering ...

LandCruiser rear disks
I want to do a rear disk brake conversion on the old 45. I've heard lots ideas from Hilux to Subaru. Just wondering what you guys have done, seen or dreamed about?
Thanks, Richard.

Gears
I am assuming most of this thread is concerned with syncro gears! I'm just wondering what people, in particular John think about moving to a straight cut box? Would this be just as hard to do? Despite the obvious drawbacks, would there be any strengh, or ratio gains yo be had??
Thanks, Richard.
Thanks, Richard.
