Just my 2 cents.

I would go front locker.

I find when climbing hills a front locker helps to climb over steps / ledges. Having a rear locker, while good, only seems to push the front wheels harder into the ledge or step.

I have had various combinations in various cars (40 series, 60 series and ...

Since fitting a 0-100 psi oil pressure gauge i've learnt all the different pressure readings you get between cold/hot oil, new/old oil and how the pressure changes with engine speed.
Dan,

Just out of interest, what sort of oil pressures do you get?

Cheers,

Tom.

This is straight from the NJOY book that most tyre shops use. The 7.50 16 used on an 80 series is 812mm, the 275/70/16 is 792mm diameter and the only other tyre used on an 80 standard is 265/75/15 at 779mm diameter. The same book lists a 33 (any width as they are all technically the same hieght) at ...

Greg,

I hear what your saying about the CT26 being a little smaller than ideal for a 1HZ.

I rarely (never) see over 3,000rpm. I can see that a bigger turbo would suit higher revs, but had hoped the CT26 would suit my needs reasonably well. At one stage I was going to fit a turbo from a Nissan ...

I'm thinking of adding a boost compensator and getting it tuned - got a price of $885 to fit and tune - sound pretty reasonable?

They claim that by adding the boost compensator they can tune for more power across the rev range than not having one - does this sound right?

I know I'll definately ...

Finally Turboed my 1HZ - Do these Figures Sound Right???

Hi All,

Finally put a turbo on my 1HZ 80 series - a factory CT26 with factory inlet and exhaust manifolds, and 3" mandrel bent exhaust.

At 80km/h in 4th I'm cruising at about 7psi, at 100km/h I'm cruising at about 10psi boost. Max boost I have seen is about 11psi. I've turned the fuel screw in a ...

Possibly sorted.

I bit the bullet and pulled the fuel adjust screw out. There is an O ring on the screw shaft.

Looks like I'll have to ring around on Monday morning to try and find a new one.

Cheers,

Tom.

1HZ Diesel Fuel Pump Leak from Fuel Adjust Screw

Hi All,

Finally put a turbo on my 1HZ 80 series and have turned the fuel adjust screw in for more fuel.

I now have a fuel leak from this adjusting screw.

Is there a gasket or O ring that has been damaged? If so, is it easily replaced, or is it within the top cover?

Any help would be greatly ...

As you probably see during your searches, it is possible to tap into the alternator to get a tacho reading.

I have done this with my own 80 series (also a poverty pack) and have a 2" tacho and oil pressure gauge sitting on the front side pillar.

I haven't confirmed the tacho is 100% accurate, but ...

Am I right to assume the photo is a pre '95 dash, and so the claim that diff lock lights on pre '95 dashes are on the left would be incorrect?

Time to Turbo my 80 - any Thoughts?

Hi All,

It's time I start thinking about putting a turbo on my 1HZ diesel 80 series.

60 series locker in 80 series

Hi All,

I've got an air locker out of my old 60 series (an old Robertsons locker - still in really good condition with new seals).

The question is, can I put it into the rear of my diesel 80 series (it is a complete diff with gears), or should I off load it and buy a front locker for my 80?

I ...
