Keen Jelly Bean

Hey guys, can you include the Nissan Club on the list. We've already got a couple of teams keen to have a go this year.

trials

Wendy - good work. Great idead being able to see your mates drive. Looking forward to that. In the past few years the comps have sort of lost their team spirit cause you drive your own race and only hear about your mates over the radio. As for the point scoring - also good....I think. I've always be...

New Pecker

Yeah - Nissan Club would probably be in, given its the last even for the year. Can we get more idea where it will be at. 2.5hrs from Windsor sounds like its up the putty so, either TTC site or at Howes. Although they're not really 2.5hrs from windsor. So if pecker is off this year, does that mean th...

scoring

I still reckon the scoring needs to be review. The modified cars always end up with more points than the open and outlaw. For individual drivers this is not a problem. The problem is for overall winner and for the club placings at the end of the day. If I was in modified, I'd be cheering!! maybe its...

scoring

Hi Wendy. Just wondering on the scoring. Can you review the scaling system for scoring, now that there generally are different tracks for the different classes, hence negating the need for scaling of those tracks. I agree, that where the track is a common track, then scaling should occur, eg mudrats...

Dude - Pretty sure a rose joint will not pass an engineers cert. Tie rod ends have a taper for a reason. It stops slop in the joint. If you go for a rose joint, you'll never be able to tighten the 2 pieces together properly.

Mig

Yo, I have a couple of welders. The old stick which I've built a few cars with, then I bought a mig. Stick gets better weld penetration and makes for a stronger weld, the mig is more convenient with no slag. Also - the stick burns hotter and the heat is more dispersed, the mig is more centralised an...

Thanks Fellas, my 160 is at the wheels and was with standard gearing. The 4.6 ratios make it nicer to drive and it goes a heap better so maybe I am getting a bit more grunt. Infortunately I picked up a load of shit fuel, and I reckon its not performing like used to. Good to hear there are som many o...

GU Dyno output

Just curius, has anyone had their GU/GQ 4.2 or 3.0 for that matter, run over a dyno. Was wondering some output figures, and how the truck goes. Mine's a 4.2, high flowed turbo pushing about 16psi, intercooled, had the pump and injectors recalibrated, runs an auxilliary fuel pump to prime the main pu...

Ha - the Nissan Wobble. Reckon everyone gets it a bit, some worse than others. Since this is a Tech section I'll post a Tech answer. If you have a lift in the car, depending on the size of the lift you may be prone to a head shake after small bumps in the road. Main reason for this is the angle of t...

Chassis

OK. Can get you a chassis, its straight - numbers are good. THe GU chassis has some more gussets in it but that is about it....and if you have an earlier Gu the chassis is identical to GQ. The Utes also have more gussets and are the same dimensions as wagons. Chassis would cost about 1k. Where are y...
