Re: 99 gu 4.2 turb D missing first thing in the mornings? he

Check the fuel tank breather is not blocked, overnight will draw fuel back into tank causing fuel starve on first start. Also a loose fuel line will draw air into the system. Had a similar problem and this is what I found. I used to loosen the fuel cap, air would gush past into the tank and the revs ...

Try driving it around for a few weeks, it may relax some tension and be a good lsd. You've gone to all the trouble of setting it up thus far, see what happens. With my last gq I had the diff tightened twice, the first time was good but loosened after a short while, the second time was locked solid ...

I run the same walbro pump. I mounted it at the back of the chassis next to the fuel tank on top of the 45 degree corner chassis piece. In that position it is close to the tank and i didn't have to cut any steel lines, just got 2x 90deg brass fittings from pirtek or the likes and some 10mm hose etc ...

I can't say i've seen any "adapters" that bolt to a stock manifold (ie. N/A manifold), unless you are talking about a "J" pipe - which i'm fairly sure any reputable workshop would steer well clear of (as its a bit dodgy). I think anzac needs to clarify which "std" manifold he was referring to (N/A ...

Your motor will rev alot more freely and lose that 2-3 grand stutter alot of them tend to suffer from. When I fitted mine I found 3 fuel leaks from lines which would of been drawing in air previously. I used a 6psi Walbro pump which will flow if power is lost. Its a good mod for any diesel imo ...

Mine isn't turboed ( yet ), but it does go well. Extractors, 2 1/2 exhaust, snorkle, Walbro lift pump and the fuel screw slightly twisted. Want to play with the pump timing a little to see if that makes a difference, get to that soon. Using a good quality fuel is noticable also. The lift pump has ...

I run a Walbro pump on mine, its non turbo but the improvement is definately noticable. With the system under pressure I found a couple of small leaks that would of been drawing in air previously. Yes you can use the TB pump. The pulley from memory is a bit smaller but that will flow more at lower rpm.
You will just need to mount the remote resevoir, which I bolted to the inlet manifold and adjusted/bent the bracket as required.
easy swap, about 3 beers.
cheers.

I fitted a Walbro 6 psi pump to mine. Instantly over came the mid rev stutter at about 22-2400 rpm. Found a couple of leaks that possibly would of been drawing in air previously. Definately made a difference in driveability, alot smoother through the revs and feels like it picked up a little power ...

Well i asked around at a couple of place's today and each place was not interested in looking at drop boxes because of the idea of shifting the mounting point. But the arms would not be an issue as they use the original mount. So arms it will be. Probably go Big O arms. Read alot of positive ...

Do drop boxes or drop arms req mod plate?

Looking at fitting either drop boxes or drop arms to my gq 4" lift. Do they require a mod plate?
I'm guessing that as the boxes change the mounting point they most likely would. The arms I'm unsure as they use the original mount.

We have been looking at the idea of getting a early to mid 90's GQ 7 seater Patrol as a more comfortable vehicle for the family to get around in, since we can't all fit into the falcon and the girls don't like getting into my dusty ride. Either a carby or efi on gas, auto ( the opposition party is ...
