Hello All,
I am chasing a 3.7 diff ratio to fit into a 60 series Land Cruiser diff. What cars did these come out or even better when can i get my hands on one, would prefer second hand if possible
Thanks

Re: Rear diff ratio's
Ok, I don't really want to make a customer case and custom axles, as this is a low budget vehicle.
But interested in the 9" fitting the toyota housing. Is there a 9" centre that would fit the 60 series axles or would I still need custom axles?

Rear diff ratio's
G'day All, I have a rear wheel drive off road race buggy that currently runs a 60 series rear diff with a 4.11 diff ratio, I am after a higher ratio, somewhere around 3:1. I know you can get a 3.7 for the 60 series but it woun't be high enough. I'm aware I will have to replace the whole rear ...

Is it possible to fit low pinion to GQ front diff?
G'day, ok, what I have is GQ's front and rear in my front engined buggy I'm building. currently I have a stock GQ front housing with an ARB locker, what I want to do is fit a low pionion centre and then run MQ swivels backwards to make a semi high steer setup behind the housing. From what I have ...

15" rims for D2?
G'day All,
Just wondered if you can get 15" rims to suit D2's? I know the 16" alloys are close to the steering arms and caliper, but It looks like a 15" rim would fit with alittle bit more offset.

2LT boost compensator
Hi,
Trying to find where I can get a 2LT boost compensator to fit into a 5L pump. The Hilux has already been turbo'd aftermarket and I'm fitting a intercooler and want to fit a boost compensator

Re: fine spline VS coarse spline
yes the early CV's are bigger than the later ones, but you can convert to defender CV's which is the biggest stock CV again. But again to get more strength you would go aftermarket CV's or do some sort of conversion. I would just run the 24spline front diff, the axle will be weaker than the smaller ...

Disco 2 TD5 vs Defender TD5
G'day all, I currently own a 1995 disco 1 300tdi manual. It has a 2" lift and 32" tyres. But it is now approching 300 000kms and I'm looking to upgrade. Just wanted to get peoples opinions of what might be best. I need a vehicle I can drive to work every day, but also needs to be tough enough to go ...

Re: fine spline VS coarse spline
There is alot of good tech info on this thread. Although not much of it is any good in the real world, any rover standard axle is weak and probably made of cheese. If you want any strength you need to buy aftermarket axles and hub flanges. Yes the salisbury axles 24 spline and 30mm diameter is the ...

Not that strong
I would suggest an 80 series rear, or a dana 60 rear or a custom ford 9" rear

Re: The New Defender Noob Question
To be honest they have sorted out the bugs of the puma, they were prone to getting water in the fuel tank due to a badly designed breather, which brought the engine light on and normally stuffed the fuel system. early ones had oil jet issues on the pistons and rattled at cold start, but all engines ...

G'day all,
Just wondering If anyone knows where I can get HD Steering arms and HD Trailing arms to suit a Discoery Series I. I could make them, but I feel they are probably cheaper/easier to buy these days
Thanks

Re: The New Defender Noob Question
This is just my opinion and I have had Land rovers for the past 11 years including series 2's, County's, Range Rovers and currently a Disco 1. I am also looking at options to upgrade too and buying new is nearly impossible for a "REAL" 4WD. I would never buy a new defender, they are way too far over ...

Re: 2009 Range Rover Sport Tow / Tourer / Beach Info
You can fit a second battery in the box on the drivers side with the ABS module and brake master cylinder, You can only fit a small battery in size but there are plenty of high output small batteries available these days. most ARB's and TJM places should be able to fit it. You can even ask your ...

Re: 2009 Range Rover Sport Tow / Tourer / Beach Info
All Range Rover sports are Automatic's I would try and buy a 2007 model on, they had worked out the bugs by then. I would also consider the TDV6 (then you could chip it) as a very good tow vehicle. You'll be sprised how good they go. The Supersharged V8 would be too pricey to purshase unless it had ...

Diff ratio for 60 series
G'day all,
Just wondered if there were any gear sets that fit a 60 series centre that is higher (yes higher) than the standard 4.1 ? looking at fitting a 60 series diff into a 2 wheeler buggy and would like to be able to fit a slightly higher ratio to run smaller tyres.

Where to find small fuel tank or Air Tank
G'day all,
I'm after a Cheap and small (around 20L) fuel tank for a buggy. It needs to be tall and narrow, but I can't seem to find anything to suit. I once turned an 18L air tank into a fuel tank, but can't seem to find any at the right price.

MQ big diff ratio
G'day all,
Just picked up a set of front and rear MQ diffs that came out of a ute. The rear diff is the "big" H260 diff, from what I have found on the bible info they only came in 4.8. Is this correct?

GQ diff gears into MQ
G'day all,
I Have a Rear Engined and rear wheel drive Buggy that I need a 3.9 or 4.1 diff ratio in. I am looking at different options at the moment and think a MQ rear diff will work well.
Can I fit GQ 3.9 and 4.1 diff gears to the MQ centre?

G'day all, I have been given a cargo barrier (milford I think) but it only came with 2 long metal straps and 2 very short metal straps and no mounting points or bolts at all. Ok I think Bitsamissin has answered everyones question, But 'll explain what I did I got the 9.5" 4.6** CWP set and fitted/ Bolted it to the original 9" diff centre and diff carrier (LSD Section). I then ground about 7mm (roughly) off the mating ring on the diff casing and fitted the centre with the ...
