i do a solenoid pack using cole hersee solenoids $550 per pack, pack consists of four solenoids all mounted with adequite copper buzz bar, the solenoids have silver contacts and an inrush current of 2,200 amps and cont rating of 220a , using 2 for in and 2 for out this is the only way to guarantee enough current when needed, a 6hp motor can want up to 450amps under load, i have set up many of these systems on different comp trucks , if anyone is interested pm me or call me on 0409600691
I've been using standard Premier/Com-Up 24v solenoids for the past 3 years. I've had one fail but that was outside under the bonnet. I have had them in the cab for the past 2 years and they have been going very well. These are running 7.8 hp 24v so at full load they can get over 450 amps 24v. They are 4 post so only need 2 and they cost under NZ$100.

just wondering guys, can these Allbright/Titan solenoid packs handle the current draw of twin 6hp motors.
That is, is anyone using this set up in comps?
If not are you able to use them in a parallel circuit?
At the moment im using 4 200amp (cole hersee) solenoids for IN, and 2 for OUT, on a single 6hp motor. just wondering what the go is to reliablely switch 2 motors.
Been following this thread fairly closely and it seems twin motors and PTO drums are no longer the edge but necessary to be competitive.
SO BE IT. just another excuse to go out and buy more shiny shit:armsup:

I can't tell you much about them but they are
Uni Point
Part #
SNLS - 117 ATP
24v
UNI0502
They are the standard 24v solenoid supplied with Come-Up winches (same as a Premier winch)
I had a motor shrt out inside and the solenoid jammed open. I had to undo the battery terminal to stop the winch (as it slowly melted). Fitted new motor and continued to use the solenoid for another 12 months before fitting new ones. They are now my spares.

i would like to thank flamin fabrications warren for his help, this guy would bend over backwards to help so if you need any fabrication work done he is the man

Hey Hammey
I've been running a TITAN Solenoid on my truck for 18mths now, it's still the first 1 Berretta brought over to test, I've done 2 OBC's, Cliffhanger, a few whinch challenges and never had a problem with it, 1st running a 4.6hp motor and for 12 mths a 6hp motor, I swear by these things they won't let you down and easy to install and wire. If you run twin motors you run 2 solenoids.

Just received mine that Warren has made specially to suit my 7.8hp motors. The machining works looks pretty damn good and everything just slots together so once the truck is back on (off?) the road I'll test it in anger with twin 7.8hp 24v motors on it!
Also I'm in NZ and they made it really easy to give them money!

Sorry you can't see the Free Spool as good. Will be at Ateco next weekend.
Now real proof that this setup works would be to have it on a car for the ateco!!! I'm volunteering to trial it for u
2 trucks, possibly 3, will be using the adapters at the Ateco...
....but it HAS already been proven for the last cpl of years.. 1st & 2nd place at the Ateco last year and 1st Place at the Alpine.......but was hush, hush then.
Now it's available for all...
