The 7.8 hp motors are good. Been running mine for 2 years of comps on 12v and not a problem. Why not just grab the 24v 7.8hp. It will pull harder than the 6hp on 24v as it is the hp that it all comes down to.
The only problem I found with mine was I had to space the rear end plate. Not a problem really.

Lots of people putting 24v thru 12v motors mate, probably the greater majority of the trucks in the Outback Challenge do this to get more gonads out of their winch motor. Nothin new.
Hey berretts how u doing Killbill here from group B outback 07 how did u enjoy it?Are u coming back next year?
I heard your making some enhancements to winches would like to find out more

These motors are not Warn but will bolt straight up to a premiere, superwinch, warn and others...yes we have heard a rumour that someone put 24V through a 12V and burnt it out...but we know for a fact that Warns burn out on a regular basis at any voltage under comp situations...whilst that is easy to say (and we do see it regularly), it also needs to be taken into account that Warn motors are the main ones being used under these conditions...so any quoted statistics or anecdotal evidence or opinions or heresay should be taken with a grain of salt...
...all we are saying is that these look like a great alternative and we are trying to get some out here to give them a serious testing...I have seen them used extensively in another country but I do want to see how they go here.
If we can get them cheaper than a Warn motor or similar...and they perform better...would people be interested?

Beretta off here was looking at them some time ago.. Might be worth a PM to see if he's got anywhere with them.
EDIT oops should have kept reading!
As far as an indecent proposal goes, I'd accept nothing less than $100,000 to tolerate buggery. Any less and it's just not worth the psychological trauma.
We are still waiting to hear back from the supplier and will then coordinate a local importer/distributer...as soon as we have prices and any other info, I will post it up...the positive thing is that people are interested...

Just back from OS...all is looking good and will put up approximate prices shortly.
Found out that these have been used in winch challenges in NZ for ten years without failure. The only problems are when you put 24 through a 12...they do it but are not guaranteed.
The 7.8 24V gives the biggest increase in both torque and no load speed...apparently very noticeable.
The 7.8 12V is only slightly quicker at no load, but under load the extra torque really shows...and from what we discussed they have a far superior duty cycle and are tougher...and I'm talking long deep sticky NZ mud pulls.
Cheers,
Simon.
