Found this beauty the other day when i was getting some exhaust work done on the truck!
LN106, 330,000kms, 1992 model.
Its the front drivers spring hanger, and the front weld on the hanger itself has fractured almost completely through!
Should be alright to just clean it up and MIG it, right?

Yep thats the only crack my chassi has ever had, welded it up and have never had it aain as I went to cross over not long after that.
When going to cross over you remove the front trac/torque bar and this then frees everything in the front end up and releaves a bucket load of stress on lots of different mounts.
I've also seen the WHOLE trac bar mount get fully ripped out of the chassi leaving a big hole in the side of the rail.

Having a tared down chassis for an LN65 thats been 'recently' sanded back and sprayed I'd have to say: Toyota doesn't have great qualiy control on their welds. Or at least didnt in 1984. Not just some small looking welds but the terrible splatter everywhere. Anyway the MIG took care of some stuff, now it looks too neet .
Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.
