CASTOR PLATES BREAKING ????????

Gday all i have heard of people saying that caster plates can just snap or brake.
Has any one had this happen to them or heard of it happening??.
I just don't c it being possible anyway just thought i should ask.

I have had 80 series standard mounts crack an also standard gq mounts crack but not caster plates, the mounts normally crack at the diff

Ive had caster plates for over 2 years and they have had a fair hiding. Still in perfect condition .......cheers shane.

Im guessing that the axle has not been centered with the correct panhard length to match the lift.
Dont expect mere proof to sway my opinion.

Im guessing that the axle has not been centered with the correct panhard length to match the lift.
All had the right length panhards, gq n series 1 gu left hand inner plates are not fully welded and crack the small stitch welds there, the rest seem OK. The 80 series had a 3" lift and its common for them to crack their mounts. When flexed alot the plates get work harden and crack at the first ridgid point, the diff housing. I have repaired quite a few of these.
