G'day, I'm now looking to upgrade my current motor (1HZ) instead of going to a 1HD as i previously posted for info about. I currently have a safari turbo kit on it, and Im chasing any info on how to go about making the motor itself produce more power (i.e: making it flow better and changing compression ratios etc.) And Building it to handle up to 30PSI or more of boost. Like specific brand names for parts or what exactly is available... I have no clue at the moment so any info is good info.
Cheers,
Nate

Engine Upgrades on 1HZ

The 1HZ wont handle 30PSI Or more or anything near that for the simple fact its in-direct injection, so it will need head work plus a big arse intercooler, not to mension how much it would cost to get the fuel pump set up right the Bottom end will need a frig load of stregnthening. the list goes on!
whack a V8 in and you'll be on your way

mate my motor had near 12 large put into it with this in mind (less than 30psi mind you) and ive still got to buy a turbo, set up the fuel properly, sort out the intercooler/induction. even after all this depending on who you talk to 25psi is the best you will get, less if you want it to last more than 6 months. vSAHARAx is right, go with the v8. for the same if not less money you will have way more power, with a lot less hassle. i sometimes wish i had, but i do love the sound of a wild turbo diesel

Nate,
you will need forged pistons, custom rods and rings, great head porting, block oringed and fitted with head studs. The best i/c,cooling system and clutch you can find. Then a correct sized turbo to do it all with. Then pump and injector mods.
Good luck with this, dont let people say it cant be done.
