So i've contacted CRS and Marks regarding what i need.

CRS tell me that i need a bell housing, engine mounts and sump $1,200ish

Marks tell me i need:
bell housing $970.00
Engine Mount $190.00
Flywheel $330.00
Heavy duty clutch $370.00
Clutch master cylinder & adaptor kit $125.00
VN, VP, and VR engine interface loom diesel models $485.00
Hall effect VSS to suit cable driven speedometers $345.00
Complete Fuel and bracket kit $475.00
Surge Tank and Electronic Fuel Pump Kit $310.00
Engine cooling kit (Engine Driven $465.00
3 core heavy-duty radiator $690.00

How much of this crap do i actually need?

It's a 1996 Hilux leaf sprung 3L diesel.

Thought of a 3rz?
No adapters needed, pretty much bolts in.

Will do some homework. I'm assuming the engine would cost more, but no need for adaptors would probably level out.

How do the 3RZ's like LPG?

Surge Tank and Electronic Fuel Pump Kit $310.00 - depends if your climbing, if you can use gas on hills, nope. just the fuel pump which is around $120 from bursons
Engine cooling kit (Engine Driven $465.00 - run thermos, not sure on engine driven fan i cant run one with the v8
3 core heavy-duty radiator $690.00 - get one from wreckers or rad joint, i got a 4 core cruzer one built new for less then that

you will need most of the stuff from marks list whichever way you go, try the rodshop in castlemain, vic.

if you are in victoria you will need a 1996+ motor for engeneering

Not to shore about the last one there, I think you can use other cheeper stuff. Matt is dropping a V6 in his new rig and the only thing has has bought from them is the adaptor and engine mount. But yes he a an auto lecky :roll:

Toyota 3 litre straight 6 7MGE is a bolt up fit.
Thats what i got in mine.
Stick it in low and NAIL IT !!!!!!!!!!

7m are getting a bit long in the tooth by now let alone all the common problems they have 1j or 2j with whatever induction setup you want would be best bet for any inline 6 into a hilux.

I have done 2 of these now. 1 auto th700 & a manual with a heavy duty marks gear box. As for crs stay away. Marks gear is the best. If you put it on a standard gearbox you will blow third gear out of it unless you drive it like a total sisy. Use the marks box but its 2500 bucks or use a th700 that will save a bit coin & still be reliable. As for the price of doing the job mine cost about 6 grand doing it myself with the auto & i built the auto myself. You need to buy the adaptor kit the wiring kit is very good but it can be done if you have complete doner vehical. Have a look at efi hilux fuel tanks so you c an use a intank fuel pump with a swirl pot. The speed sensor kit is good for fuel economy in my opion its a must. After its al done good luck with vibration in take off espessily if you have big tyres. its the diff trying to roll around on itself you will need to strengthen therear diff spring mounts cos they will break the welds

As for the clutch use a v8 clutch plate with a V6pressure plate that is what marks use as for price theres not much differance in price between marks & anyone else

have decided to go down the road of the 3RZ, way cheaper and only marginly less powerful.

Thanks again.

Good pointg on the rear diff, have a front diff here that is 1/4 way through being strengthened, might have to do a rear as well.

wise move....iv been out with a few commo v6 hiluxs on the tracks and find my 3rz alot more driveable, no overheating probs, and best of all dont sound like a vn commodore burning up the tracks lol

my complete 1jzgte setup is for sale in the classifieds ,albeit a bit more expensive than a dunnydoor conversion. but there is no comparison ,set and forget a cheers darinnd embaress anyone you like.

i put a 7mge in my lux it cost me all up about $1200 for everything including doing the head gasket
