Hey all just a quick one to let you all know the Twin Sticks are in.

Very easy to install, come with great instructions and all that is required for the install.

Will have pics and a write up on it soon.

And must say once again thanks to locktup4x4.com.au

Great product and a great idea.

Cheers
Simon..

OK people I know I have been slack but I'm finally getting around to installing my 6.5's and twin sticks. What I'm wondering is which ball bearing needs to be left out? I can't find definative info anywhere. Is it the one deep inside the case?

Sadly, It's the one between the two rails which means the rails have to come right out of the case. The one on the inside of the case stays.

Yup, the detent ball is located between the shift rails and the case must be split to remove it. There's an article here that show the install and has a link to removing the detent ball step by step http://www.izook.com/tech/samurai/drive ... ltwins.htm

Good luck.

I've got that page and it doesn't really specify exactly which ball to remove only shows pictures. I thought it was the one on the inside. No worries got it all apart for the new 6.5 gears anyway

It does, there's another link within the article that you need to click that refers back to another twin stick install and step by step instuctions on removing the interlock ball http://www.izook.com/tech/samurai/drive ... /twins.htm

I've look at that link and it still doesn't explain how to remove it, basically just says it's you have to dis-assemble the case and refer to pics.

Anyway it's all good now thanks guys.

Ok can anyone confirm if I need to use a shifter sheet with the twin stick setup? Cause somehow mine has packed up and left some time and just simply isn't there lol.

What type have you got , a pic of the shifter would be good and the middle ball needs to be removed , in the pic on the right no-4 needs to be removed , this detent ball stops you shifting the 4wd selector when twinsticks are used , Cheers Paul.

This is everything I have, as you can see there isn't anything in the front housing that resembles a shift sheet. I Don't know how long it's been gone or where is went but it's not there now lol. I was thinking because of the twin sticks flat bottom design it would not need it?

you only take one ball out .. there is three all together
i believe you want to take the middle one out so each came move separate
the others make it less like for it to pop in and out of gear

edit : refer to mart's pic

You don't need a shift sheet with the Evil Twin. We designed it to eliminate that point of failure. If you have any other questions on the install let me know.
