gday, i've got a 94 4.2 d lwb patrol that has a shudder on take off feels like your driving over a cattle grid,somebody has said the tailshaft needs to be balanced or it could do this and a mechanic said its engine harmonics! any ideas? its lifted with wrangler 33 mtrs on it ,thanks

take it to a driveline shop and get them to check uni's and tailshaft first then look into harmonics

we checked the unis and greased the tailshaft going to the shop is next,thanks mate

u running any castor correction? mine does it between 70 - 80...

my brother had similar and he replaced the engine mounts which helped plenty, and remember its a diesel they shutter a bit when slow and under load.

You sure it's not just the nobly tyres when you go slow? Mine used to do it with the claws, but not anymore.
could be this also as i have just bought a new set of silverstone mt117 sports which are similar to claws. just a thought.

check panard rod bushes, my gu wagon had this problem, turned out that my panard rod bushes had been chewed out.

My GQ developed a severe front end vibration between 60-70 k's which would almost rip the steering wheel out of my hands. Changed the Panhard Rod bushes and problem was fixed. One hours work and $60.00 fixed it and its been OK for nearly 12 months. You will need some kind of press to remove and replace the bushes.
