Suspension Question
Suspension Question
Hey all.
Got a GU Coil Cab with 2" Suspension (Old Man Emu) and 2" Body Lift.
Im ditching the body lift and upgrading the suspension to a 3inch setup.
My question is will my Old Man Emu (nitrocharger) Shocks be long enough for 3 inch coils ? they are relatively new so if I can get away with it I will If not ill get longer shocks.
Next Question I have Old Man Emu castor correction bushes installed. Will these suit a 3 inch lift ? I have no idea how many degrees they are.
Cheers

whats the difference in stress levels on a body lifted vehicle over a standard vehicle?
both sit on a number of blocks, why does the height affect it?

Your castor correection will be fine for the lift and yes you can put 3" coils in with2" shocks you just won't be able to get the travel you would get if you had longer shocks. There is no real need to put in a body lift when on my ute I had a 3" kit and ran 35's and then all I had to do was put radius arm spacers(15mm and cheap) in to run 36" swampers.SilverBulletBM
Just invest in a set of decent rock sliders and forget about the body lift I don't think it's worth it personaly.

naturally the longer the mount is the more movement it will allowlove ke70 wrote:whats the difference in stress levels on a body lifted vehicle over a standard vehicle?

As already said, they'll be right for the moment. Just an idea for you, when you put your new springs in, ramp/flex it up without the shocks on, then you'll be able to have a measure up and see how much your current OME shocks are limiting your down travel.noodle wrote:Thanks all.
Ill put the 3" coils in for now and see how they go. if I need more travel ill upgrade the shocks.

Which bit didn't you understand?
id just never thought about the way the mount would move with the increased length, makes sense now as to why they tear the body
