Are WT and NT 1.3 diff centres the same, as far as for fitting a lockright go?

Are you talking about 1.3 NT and 1.3WT being the same or just about fitting lockers? A lockright will fit any zook diff im pretty sure even 2 pinions. shep will back that up...

Is there likely to be any difference in diff strength running 2 pinion vs 4 pinion? Only because I have a 4 pinion rear diff centre here that I could mix 'n match with my 2 pinion front diff centre to end up with a 4 pinion front.... not sure if it's best to do that though or just install the locker as 2 pinion???
will defo be stronger with 4 pinion. Just pull both diffs apart and put the front side gears in the rear diff. A lockrite set up correctly and driven accordingly will be fine on the road. Those that whinge about them mustn't be setting them up right. Mine was sweet on the road. Don't have issues like airlines being ripped out and other associated factors with an airlocker. I have lockrite rear, airlocker front...Good combo.

x2. i had a lockright in my first zook when i bought it. broke the pins twice. got sick of driving it ( doing a 160km RT to work everyday). when i eventually bit the bullet and bought an air locker even my wife was happy with the improvement for the money. i guess if you had a lockright laying in your toolbox as as ornament you might put it on but i personally would NEVER spend money on a lockright, to me your nearly halfway to buying you air locker and you will be more than twice as happy.lump_a_charcoal wrote:kEEP IN MIND lOCKRIGHTS CAN BE EXTREMELY TEMPREMENTAL... I had an auto lokka in the rear. It was sucked but i then found that one of my thrust washers had died so that was why it was clicking when i changed gears. Tyre pressure makes heaps of difference! and being smooth through corners... all my problems made me change back to an open diff... but you won't have those problems in the front...

You need to shim it up. To get the correct shim count you need a dial gauge to measure the amount of movement inside the lockwrong. it takes time but from what i've heard its well worth it. I saw a dial gauge and magnet stand for $50 the other day... will buy it soon enoughsheps wrote:i would like to replace the lockright in my rear diff, but the front is fine.
