drivemembers for 27 spline toyo conversion

Post by oddballrovers »

Hello every body

I am new to this forum, wich I have had a lot off info from, I am however stuck for some info, I am about to do a Longfield conversion on my series landrover using 27 spline birfields from Bobby.

My question is what do you do on the drivemember issue?

I have searched over and over but I am either blind or can not find anything about what people do.

Looking very much forward to read some replies.

Kind regards

Ole

Erhm I might be a bit daft but looking at that site it only talks 30 spline or am I blind.

And also it does not mention a serie hub anywhere.

Kind regards

Ole.

27 spline longfields are still 30 spline at the outer end. So you need 30 spline drive flanges. I am sure Keith does series flanges too.

Hi Ben

Thanks for the reply.

Now that makes sence, not being a Toyota man and newer had my hands on Toyo birfield, I did not know that fact.

I have already mailed Keith as per Mickas instruction's so we will se what he says.

Kind regards

I haven't had any experience with series spindles, but you may find that you have to machine the bore of your spindles to a slightly larger diameter to enable the 30 spline stub shaft to fit.

Also different bushes are required - plenty of info on these details for this conversion, but most applies to rangies or discos.

No maybe about it. The series spindles I have are smaller than coiller spindles.
