Double the power output and put a 1.3 in.
I have toyed with the idea of getting some more hp out of my 1ltr but even if i turboed it, the thing still wouldnt get it to rev enough or have a 5th gear.
I just skimmed the head and whilst this did make a difference, it was marginal compared with the same mod on a 1.3.
I have a 1.3 to rebuild and slot in which should go well with the 1ltr gearing.
They do race them in india and spend a heap of money doing them up and they are very competitive with the 1.3's and 1.6's i got this info of a guy who races there 3 months of the year but as i dont speak indian this makes finding out any more quite difficult.

I would probably suggest looking at CV carbs from big bore bikes. i Think i saw a Suzuki dR650 one that looked the right size (it design to flow a 650cc engine that has a redline double of a 970cc so it should be ok)

the best engine upgrade for a 1ltr is actually a step down in size. Go for a 600cc turbo motor from a capacino?? like greg truck i thionk. revs hard and you can have a wanker valve thingo too.

Lots of custom gear as I cant afford the proper stuff.

nope i think they are using the cappa gearbox...
the 85-95 sierras (jimnny) also came out in japan with the same motor, i just think capas are easier to source in australa
