Post by Bagdad mafia »

hey all,

can anyone point me in the right direction, i have a 1986 hilux 4x4 and to get it engineered i need to find out the original bump stop distance.

then i have to submit the application for modifycation with the origanal distance and the new lifted distance to get it passed as a certain amout of lift.

sorry if i have confused anyone but it makes scense to me.

When I was getting the paperwork ready for the 80 series I gave transport a call, the number for the correct department is on the bottom of the modification application form, they can give you the measuremnt from the centre of the axle to the bottom lip of the gaurd, they'll probably have the bumpstop spacing on the computer too, at least this way you'll be working off the same figures they use come inspection time.

Toyota chassis and body repair manual for your vehicle will have the info you are after.

I got one for the 4 Runner for $80 on the net.

Cheers
