It can be done, you need a blower of a suitable size, M90 at the absolute minimum. Expect to spend a lot of time and effort on a belt system that won't slip in mud, won't squeal in dust and won't destroy belts in rocks. So this means a serpentine belt of about an 8pk or wider or perhaps a tripple V belt. I have seen a double V belt work with moderate sucess on a TB45 blower kit, slippage still an issue. Machine up some pulleys, get a heavy duty tensioner with lots of travel, move the radiator /shroud/fan to make it all fit and pretty much away you go. I'd strongly suggest an after cooler to as P.D. blower produce high air temps.

i would choose a Eaton m112 if i was to do it again allthought the m90 is totally adequate boosting at up to 10pounds if you get your drive ratios right. you dont need to move the radiator but you will need to move the power steer pump and space the fan forward about 25mm. mine is intercooled and yes it was a lot of extra work but remember everything is custom. any specific questions just ask.
oh and for those who are knockers or want to know why i would bother it only cost me 470 for the charger and intercooler so why not

I've been swaying towards doing a supercharger mod as well but there must be reasons why everyone does the Turbo mod.
i have been wondering this aswell. and i have thought that a supercharger would be better, as you will have boost from idle. am i corect in thinking that? whereas a turbo, will only create boost as the rite revs.

i know of a few guys with supercharged Toyota's and the one big advantage if instant power regardless of rev's, load, gearing etc.
however no economy advantage like a turbo has for normal driving. tho some disconnect/bypass the supercharger to save some fuel.
supercharger simply makes the motor act like a bigger atmo motor.
turbo is better for regular driving and easier to fit.

I've heard from others as well, that you can put a clutch type system to disconnect the supercharger for day to day driving.
I've asked a few companies for more info on running superchargers, prices, fabrication etc, including how to turn it off for daily driving, so hopefully they'll get back to me soon.

with my eaton i have intercooled i witch i asure you was not an easy job but well worth it. I run a 6pk belt with falcon auto tensionerand the power steer on the same belt. the only problem with this is all of my drive pullies are custom and i have slight slippage over 9psi due to the bracket in the supercharger flexing and this will be sorted soon. as for boost off of idle yes mine runs 2psi at idle bout 6 at 1200rpm and 8 from 1800 to 3000 and 10 above that . I am yet to do the exhaust and hope to get more improvement after that, but it pulls like a freight train with egt's maxing at 650c with no smoke. As fore fuel economy idon't get any economy at all with the best sofar being about 350km out of 85l ouch.
Over all i am happy with my setup as it is not a daily driver and great for four wheeling as the power comes on very smooth and with heeps of touque down low. and for less than $1000 it can be done on a budget but you need to know someone to machine pullies for you.
