i also got a bit more of an idea when i was there today i spoke to yarra valley, 4wd victoria, and wayne smith( great bloke) im spewing that i didn't get to the guys at 3rd rock the rigs looked very well set up if anyone can inform of there club details and opinion would be great,
also of any other clubs that aren't listed on the 4wd victoria website,
i've seen club stickers on rigs such as
disturb the peace 4wd club
mudrhino
and some others that i can't think off the top of my head.

are these active clubs?
what is the difference in 4wd victoria recognised clubs and not?

Been on Drives with Mud Rhino :lol: .

3rd Rock, don't run it like a "Normal" Club, here's the web site, it has every thing about them there www.3rdrock4x4.com yep there's a few very Capable truck's in that Club :armsup: ;)

Mud Rhino's more a Forum, but there is always a drive on, and they are very helpfull, out in the Bush :armsup:

I've found ANY Clubs, are like trying to get Married, some times it just works and it's like putting an old set of Boots, other times you want to go Shoot yaself :lol:

I've gone to some Club Meetings and sat through the dribble and then walked out, shaking my head, some people really do need to remember not every one walking around HAS to worship them as a God :roll:

Join the suzuki club of victoria!

It's all about the trips. There is a hard trip at least once every 5 weeks.

If you aren't embarrassed by getting snatched or winched out by zooks then this is the club for you! We have some GQs, GUs and some other bigger 4wds in the club also...so you won't feel left out :D

but i personally would not join one due to all their crappy rules and regs...

i like to do my own thing, take my own lines and dont like a 2hr track to take 6hrs cause of un-capable trucks/drivers or weak/unmainatined vehicles breaking down/snapping stuff

im sure you can still choose who and what trucks to drive with in a club
im wanting to socialise with poeple that are interested in 4wd and go 4wding with new trucks.

sometimes a 2hr drive can turn into 6hr drive with best of trucks, i know we've had a few.

Thats the fault of the trip leader. he should say this is an A grade trip and only take cars on it that are suited - our club does that. Very select on who goes on them, and what trucks. Also the #'s are limited on those trips..

Clubs are not for all, but they should be.

sorry mate, i thought you ment physicaly new trucks, not people you havent wheeled with before.

aslo i think a good point is, to wheel with people you know. obviously at some stage you dont know people. but when you meet people. who you like wheeling with and trust, try to wheel with them as much as possible.

i try to wheel with people who are sensible, like to go rough, but have thier head screwed on straight, dont forget thier own tracks through the bush, are willing to travel slower as my truck is not as fast as everything else( i have been speed off on alot, and left in the bush trying to figure out where they went, some times there are no turn offs but some times there is, and some times there isnt that much evedence of a turn, and other times there is) i hate being left alone what happens if something major happens andi need them right there and then, and they are 5 mins up the road!!!!!!

so when i go wheeling, and i decided i dont like how some one else wheels i wont go with them as often, maybe never again.....

i do drive a toyota, but in my opinion what you drive dosent mean anything, people are free to drive and do as the want.

I was thinking about joining a club a while back, but after doing all of my research i decided not to. Time and money are my biggest enemies, so its harder to get my shit organised for set dates etc. if its tied in with a club and other people. There's also the issue of diver skill/vehicle expectations of other people, as has already been pointed out. I'm not an exhibitionist, and tend to only tacklw obstacles out of necessity, not because its there.

When i go with my mates (probably only 3-4 imes a year :oops: ), they know how i drive, they know i drive slow and cautiously, and also the fact that most of them have newer IFS and tend to not tackle the harder stuff helps. We also have the usual rules like the "corner man", and don't really tolerate any dickheadery. Our group has gone from probably 15 trucks down to about six now that we've weeded out the idiots.

Mudrhino isn't a club, its a forum but most of the trips that are organised range from medium to hardcore (night & day trips etc),

If only it was a club...
